Game Description and Comments

Corum is a free to play fantasy MMORPG from the same company as FlyFF, Rappelz, and Space Cowboy Online that has already been popular in Japan and Korea. The game has a plethora of quests and a very advanced guild and dungeon siege system. The PvP in the game is based on gaining and maintaining the possession of certain dungeons that are scattered throughout the game world. Each of these types of "siege dungeons" provide the owner with either beneficial items or materials that can be used to create unique items. The game also has thousands of items that a player can get in order to improve their characters' skills, attributes, or looks. Another unique feature is that a player can learn the skills of a different class. For example, a Fighter can learn the same casting skills as a Sorceress. 

All these features are good, but the PvP elements are what set Corum apart from most other fantasy MMOs. With PvE essentially being done to death by countless fantasy MMOs, PvP is where games really need to shine if they want to be successful. One of the key aspects to making PvP fun is to have it mean something. Just grinding kills for rewards is not enough. Having a faction or guild control a piece of land, resources, and/or dungeons gives players a strong reason to get in to PvP. This also gives players a good reason to work as a team instead of just piling up kills or marks. By allowing players to control instances, Corum elevates the concept of PvP combat in the free MMO genre.

Comment: Personally, I really liked the game. I thought that the dungeon sieges were a lot of fun. I also like the fact that you can acquire skills from classes other than your own.

Comment: A good game overall, but the PvP was different. GPotato really can't do much better than FlyFF or Rappelz. I hope they make a better game than those two though.
