Hey guys it's me Insanespoon. I've been thinking about what makes a good shooter recently. Is it the progression? The feeling you get if you kill someone? Or some other type of feeling that just gets your blood flowing?

For me it's the progression. A recent game to really make me want to level is Gears of War 2. Until recently they used the standard Xbox Live Truskill system. they decided to move to a level system. After that has happened I find myself playing a lot more then I should be. just something about the leveling that makes me want to get better.

For others it's the sensation of beating others. when was the last time anyone you know hasn't gotten excited about the feeling of doing better then someone else? I can't remember one time on Halo 3 when I saw that double kill pop up!

Shooters spark a very weird feeling in the persons body. it makes your blood flow, pumps your heart faster, and just makes u feel accomplished. Whenever I have played a shooter it makes me feel like I'm actually there. I feel the bullets hit me (thanks to vibrations) and everyone including me just gets overwhelmed. That's what shooters were made for. Getting your blood flowing and making you excited and angry at the same time.

Unrelated is the fact that I've decided to try and blog a lot more. I'm only going to put them on this site so I hope you enjoy my ramblings!
=P
Feel free to share what fires you up in shooters!

    For me, 2/3 things.

    1. GOOD Graphics
    2. Unlimited bullets/Lots of bullets/Faster reload.
I cannot STAND COD4's slow reload.
    3. Many choices of guns.

Yeah I really like the amount of choices in shooters too. If they only have a couple of guns I feel restricted.

No hackers/vary little, good verity of games and well made maps that are balanced for classes/player types and in fairness.

Hackers is the biggest thing though.

yeah I almost forgot about classes there my favorite part of the shooter. Hackers can really make a game go sour too.

I don't see the point of hacking a shooter. It's not fun that way for the hacker and the hackeree.
