Team Fortress 2 vs. Call of Duty 4 Results

This is a semi-final match in the Online Shooter Showdown.

The Match-Up

This was a fairly even match-up between two of the most solid online shooters. This can be seen by the fact that both games ended up with an impressive review score of 8.25. Forum voting, however, was not as close as Team Fortress enjoyed a sizable lead for the majority of the week. Thus, the forum voting propels Team Fortress 2 into the finals.

Despite losing, Call of Duty 4 did great in the tournament. Suprisingly, CoD 4 entered the tournament as a replacement for Battlefield Heroes because that game is not playable for the general public yet. Once entered, Call of Duty 4 knocked off Quake Live and Crysis.

Team Fortress 2 will now meet Cross Fire in the Finals. Both games eliminated quality competition. TF 2 eliminated Left 4 Dead, GunZ and now Call of Duty 4 while Cross Fire eliminated Counter Strike: Source, Combat Arms, and Battlefield 2142. This week should be a great match.

Comment: To awesomedrako, how is a "good shooter" rated a "3"? Seems like you really badly want CoD 4 to win, without even playing Team Fortress 2 before. Anyways, Team Fortress 2 is one of the first person shooters that I consider to be top tier. The graphics are amazing, gameplay is smooth and addictive, and new achievements and weapons are being added every month. Right now I"m having tons of fun with the sniper and spy update. It"s simply an awesome game already, yet being updated with more and more innovations and gameplay. I give this a 10/10, this is one of Valve"s best shooters ever.

Comment: Team Fortress 2 is a good shooter, but if you compare it by itself with Cod4, then there is just no comparison. Cod4 wins by miles.
