Shooter Showdown Finals

This is the final match in the Online Shooter Showdown.

The Match-Up

Cliche or not, the Online Shooter Shjowdown ended with a bang. Both Cross Fire and Team Fortress 2 defeated the best Online FPS games to make it into the finals. Voting and reviews were split the entire week. Surprisingly, review scores in the Review Directory voting stayed high the entire week. In fact, the final review scores for these two games are among the best of any Showdown match. Both rated high enough to get on our Top Ten Online Game List.

The forum voting lead exchanged hands a few times during the week. Overall comments primarily focused on such factors as bugs, ghost mode, graphics, and Cross Fire being a free download. Being free and having ghost mode were enough to put Cross Fire over in both Review and Forum voting.

Cross Fire will now go into the semi-finals for its division in the Free Online Game Tournament and will receive an award at GameOgre's 2009 Online Game Awards.

Comment: Cross Fire is an amazing game but hackers have completely wreaked the experience... getting killed 30 times on respawn is not fun and until they fix this problem it's just another shooter.

Comment: Ghost mode is awesome. The more I play it the less I like the cartoon graphics of TF 2. The adrenaline rush in CF from Ghost mode can not be underestimated.
