Lord of the Rings Online versus Dungeons and Dragons Online Results

This is the second match of MMORPG Showdown 4
The Match-Up
Like World of WarCraft vs. Age of Conan, this match was decided in the final hours of voting. Dungeons & Dragons Online took an early lead in both forum voting and review scores primarily due to it being a free-to-play MMORPG now. However, Lord of the Rings Online did manage to overtake the voting in the Review Directory in the final two days of voting. In the end, DDO managed to squeak out a win over a game that has done quite well in the Showdowns over the years. LoTRO's story was the driving force behind its comeback, but it was not enough against DDO's recent move to F2P. This victory marks the first win by DDO in a Showdown.

Comment: How can anybody vote against LoTRO???? I defy you to name a fantasy MMORPG with a better story and world. it had a smooth launch while most launches downright suck and the content updates have been great. The weapon system trumps WoWs.

Comment: LoTRO is a one of the best MMOs but I don't see much special about it beyond the story behind it and that it has a set ending.
DDO is more unique and free.
