EVONY
I started playing Evony about 2 weeks ago now after seeing a lot of adverts on various web sites notably facebook. I have previously tried to start other online games and found them to be too difficult for new starters to get to grips with and also from the minute you give out your e-mail address they are trying to part you from some cash to enhance your gaming experience.
From start up on Evony I was surprised by how easy it was to begin. They even give you a 7 day truce window free from attacks from other players, to begin you give your lord a name mine is lord Thomas John then you pick which region or server you would like to play in I picked Thuringia on server 75, you start with your Town Hall and a few resource fields which supply you with wood, iron, stone and food to help you improve your city, and feed your workers.
During the seven day truce period your advised to follow the quests set to help you start up,each time you successfully complete these quests you are rewarded with resources or prestige points, you are also advised after upgrading your Town Hall to level 2 that you can now join an alliance or create your own, be careful which alliance you join , I picked an alliance that was in the middle of a war I think and was nearly wiped out ,luckily I switched to a better alliance
There is also a chat box were you can talk to anyone currently playing or switch it so you only chat to people in your alliance, talking to people in your alliance can help a lot. People who were a high level than me gave me advice on what buildings to concentrate on and what technologies to research first.
If you enjoy playing games like Civilisation like me( I spent £40 for the latest one and got it on release day) where you play against computer controlled opponents, or if you play on-line and can manage to hold your connection, then Evony is the perfect game for you, there is never any connection problems(I've never en-counted one so far), the game is constantly being updated, for fifteen minutes every day the daily updates keep every thing up-to-date and bug free, you play against real people all the time from all over the world, When your not on-line you still gain your resources, your buildings still get built and research still carry's on, I try to improve things that don't take to much time during the day when I am on-line and leave the buildings that take longer to start when I am going to be away or at night when I am sleeping.
If like me you are easily hooked, then be aware that when you first start playing Evony your whole life can be put on hold, when ever I am away from my p.c I still have to log on at friends and relatives so I can check on the progress and start improvements if needed. Facebook used to be my home page and after two days of Evony and i'd changed it over. Now the first thing to come on the screen is Evoney
