The Mangled Metal tournament rules haven’t changed since last time, and the general principle stays the same. Here you can find the schedule for the Mangled Metal tournament:<br />

Already signed up? Make sure you register your team for approval! While you’re waiting you should go practice with your team, so take one of your Tier X mammoths and get ready mangle some metal! For those who would like to know the detailed list of rules, please read further.<br />

Full Tournament Rules:<br />
Team captain obligations: Rules infringements must be posted within 15 minutes after the round end in a dedicated thread. After the deadline passes, reports will be deemed invalid.<br />
All team captains must keep up to date on the forums.<br />
<br />
Vehicle limitations: No specific vehicles are prohibited.<br />
Total tier points for a team must not be less than 70 points and no more than 140 points.<br />
Declarations of tank choices before the game are not required.<br />
The table below depicts tier limitation for this tournament.<br />

Players: A team roster must consist of 14 players, and may include up to 6 registered reserve players. Team must be fully registered and accepted before playing (A reserve player may replace a primary player at any time).<br />
Each player can only play for one team in one tournament, cup or championship<br />
Any player can change team if they want. Players are not allowed to play for a new team within 10 days of their departure from their old team, and may not take part in any games and tournaments of his new team during this period. This also applies to newly registered players playing for an existing established team but not for entirely new teams.<br />
A banned player who’s ban has recently expired cannot play in any new teams or participate in an existing team for 30 days after the expiration of their ban.<br />
<br />
Naming:  Once the team has been created, it cannot change its name (please be very careful when naming your team).<br />
Team and player names must not violate the wargaming.net naming rules; any team violating these rules will be disqualified.<br />
Wargaming.net staff or affiliates are not prohibited from playing unless they are part of the tournament administration, these people will be stated. (Only a maximum of 2 Wargaming.net employees and/or affiliates per active team are allowed).<br />
<br />
Before the battle:  Teams have 10 minutes before the allocated start time to join the lobby. If a team is not ready in this time and no one from the reserve can take the place in the primary (main) team, this team forfeits the game.<br />
Use of premium tanks, shells and consumables is allowed.<br />
<br />
Victory conditions:  Each battle lasts for 15 minutes.<br />
To win a game, the team will need to destroy all enemy vehicles or capture the enemy base.<br />
The first rounds will be “Best of 1”. Subsequent rounds will be “Best of 3”. The final is “Best of 5”.<br />
If a match ends in a draw, both teams will be disqualified for passive play in a best of 1 game. In best of 3 and best of 5 matches the below rule applies.<br />
If a match ends in a draw, we will use the 8 tier points rule. &quot;In the case of a draw, the total tier points of surviving tanks will be added up for each team. A team with 8 tier points advantage over their opponent will be the winner&quot; (This must be checked with a screen shot posted on this specific forum within 15 min of the game’s end) - if there is no clear winner then both teams are disqualified. <br />
Starting spawn points for all games will be automatically allocated by the system<br />
Games cannot be replayed unless an issue with the set up causes a problem. Unfortunately we will be unable to restart games due to disconnections or PC crashes<br />
<br />
Maps:  First round games will be held on the map Sand River.<br />
All other rounds will use the following pool of maps: Prokhorovka, Malinovka, Sand River, Cliff, Ensk, Sigfried Line and Mines <br />
<br />
Casters and admins:  Official casters will be stated before any tournament starts on the forum by the admins Bump, 0xyde or Berbo, if an official caster requests entrance to a game then they must be invited.<br />
<br />
Replays:  Replays must be recorded by all the members of each team from the quarter final onwards. The teams may be asked to provide replays at any given moment. The exact procedure of sending replays will be provided if the replays are needed.<br />
<br />
How to get to the game:  Teams are automatically invited into games starting from 18:15 CEST on each of the match days, there is a great guide to this, and a guide on what to do when you have the invite!<br />
As there was some confusion in the past on how to move players to participate in a round, we have created a simple guide that should help you with any possible match-joining problems.<br />
<br />
In the event of a team-member violating any of the above regulations, the whole team will be disqualified.<br />
Additionally, every player is advised to carefully read the “How not to get declined” guide.<br />

Sometimes one master commander takes down most of the enemy vehicles alone or a single tough commander is the steel wall that becomes a fortress in front of the enemy lines!<br />

This time, our weekly recurring Mid-Week Medal Hunt is rewarding those Steel Wall heroes.<br />

From Wednesday 22nd May 07:10 CEST (GMT +2) until Thursday 23rd May 07:00 CEST whoever is still standing after receiving at least 11 hits and more potential damage than any other player on the entire battlefield will be awarded with the Steel Wall achievement and an additional 500 experience points!<br />

Each time you obtain the Steel Wall achievement, the additional experience reward will be automatically credited to your account. The only step you need to take is planning your strategy for surprising your foes!<br />

  During the maintenance on 5/16/13, we unintentionally unlocked some  future skill ranks early. We will not revert or block the progression of  these skills. <br />
<br />
As you may have noticed, the skill system is  still unpolished. The number of AP needed to upgrade skills appears as  “-1” and the text in the tooltips is incorrect. <br />
<br />
After testing  the released skill ranks, we did not find any critical issues. We  believe that only cosmetic and informational bugs exist, so feel free to  upgrade these skills to the new ranks without worrying about issues to  your character’s skill progression.<br />
<br />
We acknowledge and apologize  for the mistake on our part. We are currently working to fix the known  text issues with the skill ranks and hope to implement them within a few  weeks.<br />
<br />
We hope that you enjoy the new skill ranks as a small tease of things to come during the summer season!<br />

It's a glorious springtime for high-level farmers, as today sees the release of ten new plants to grow, along with new produce and cross-skill training opportunities. With Farming skill requirements ranging from 76 to 96, and making use of some of the lesser-used plots, they're blooming handy for high-level training.<br />
<br />
Harvest Heaven<br />
The ten new plants fall into two categories: those that yield produce when harvested, and those that grant experience in other skills (in addition to the Farming XP, of course).<br />
<br />
In the first category, there are some familiar sights such as snape grass and potato cacti - available through farming for the first time. You'll also find some new plants: reed beds, which produce toads, swamp tar and swamp lizards, and butterfly flowers, which yield ruby harvests and have a chance to spawn a Guthixian butterfly, which grants XP in your lowest-levelled skill when caught.<br />
<br />
If you've the necessary Construction skill, you'll also be able to build frames for growing grapevines, which - when harvested - offer a crop of godly grapes, aligned to Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix. When added to water and fermented, these become wines, which can be mixed into the rest or brew potions of their respective gods, creating super Guthix rest potions, super Saradomin brews and super Zamorak brews.<br />
<br />
There's also the wishing well bush, which yields its fruit in exchange for a sum of coins based on your total skill levels. Upon opening the fruit, you will find useful items of a varying value - up to three times that of the coins you put in - although beware that it is possible to lose as well as gain wealth from this!<br />

<br />
In the second category, you'll find such wonders of nature as fly traps, which grant Thieving XP if you can snatch out their fruit with your fingers intact. There are barberry bushes too, which offer Agility XP to the nimble naturalist. Battle-botanists among you (we know you're out there) will enjoy the al fresco training offered by harvesting sunchoke tubers and prickly pears, which grant Strength and Defence XP respectively.<br />

Note that the amount of non-Farming skill XP given by harvesting these plants is relative to your current level in the relevant skill.<br />
<br />

				First, some more answers from Storm's article mentioned in earlier posts:<br />
<br />
- Ruinberg streets will be made more flat in 0.8.6 (SS: this change was promised last 2 patches already)<br />
<br />
- Marschig (another WG developer) explains the mechanics of the shell flight: &quot;(SS: when calculating shell trajectory,) the game doesn't take air resistance, Earth surface curvature or rotation and other ballistic details into account. Shells do fly according to the physics schoolbook, chapter &quot;movement of an object, thrown horizontally under an angle&quot;. Thus, for calculating the trajectory, you need only speed, elevation angle and gravity freefall acceleration. According to the same schoolbook, on flat surface you get maximum range when using the elevation angle of 45 degrees. The trajectory is symmetrical, eg. the elevation angle equals the impact angle.<br />
For tank shells, the gravity freefall acceleration is 9,81. For arty shells, it works differently - the initial shell velocity (&quot;speed&quot;) and gravity freefall acceleration can be estimated independently. It is based on an abstract artillery vehicle with maximum range of 1000m under the 45 degrees angle and the shell flight time of 4 seconds. If you - when changing the speed/velocity - want to keep the range a constant, you have to change the gravity freefall acceleration.<br />
In other words: with the unified maximum range, the trajectory of the shell doesn't depend on muzzle velocity and is always the same.<br />
<br />
- based on what Marschig wrote, Storm confirms that in the game, each shell has a gravity freefall acceleration parameter set independently. All tank shells have it as 9,81, with arty it varies.<br />
- in 0.8.6, maximum range of some weapons will be changed<br />
- in 0.8.6, some sound effects will be changed, notably: increased the difference in impact sounds between AP and HE shells, sound of tank destruction, sound of AP shells hitting hard surfaces, sound of tank getting hit by HEAT shell and sounds of tanks being hit by AP and HE shells in general<br />
- more info on 0.8.6 changes will come on Wednesday<br />
- the info on tier 10 reward tanks will come &quot;later&quot;<br />

Regular answers from the Q&amp;A thread:<br />
<br />
- the 5 arty hardcap won't be removed in 0.8.6, because first the developers need to assess the impact of the patch on arty numbers<br />
- even though SU-26 will lose its 122mm, the XP spent for it won't be reimbursed to players<br />
- patch numbers are selected &quot;according to our internal wishes&quot;<br />
- in 0.8.6, accuracy will increase both when standing and when driving around<br />
- the chance for accuracy nerfs of already accurate guns post-0.8.6 is zero<br />
- for now, Leopard prototype B will not be implemented into the game (as a premium vehicle), there isn't enough info on it for now<br />
- even if the 0.8.6 patch doesn't solve the arty flood issue, stricter arty hardcap won't be implemented<br />
- changes in Clanwars are not tied to patches, since they don't need client updates and are made online, eg. introduction of CW Seasons is not tied to 0.8.6<br />
- the shell velocity is constant throughout the whole time of its flight<br />
<br />
- camo will work the following way from 0.8.6 (simplified):<br />
Old: Camo = vehiclecamo*(camoskillcalculation)*1,25*1,05 (25 percent camo net, 5 percent bought visual camouflage)<br />
New: Camo = vehiclecamo*(camoskillcalculation) + 0,25 + 0,05<br />
<br />
SS: in other words - in the same situation, if we take for example vehicle camo factor of 0,5 (let's disregard camo skill and the demasking while moving or shooting effect for purpose of demonstration),<br />
Old: 0,5*1,25*1,05 = 0,65625<br />
New: 0,5+0,25+0,5 = 0,8 (21 percent increase)<br />
<br />
- 0.8.6 map won't be a city map, it'll be a village map<br />
- at this moment (before 0.8.6) it's not possible to simply change the XP and cred-earning coefficient for TD's<br />
- there will be no compensation for the difference between earlier and post-0.8.6 TD XP income<br />
- developers don't have a &quot;special&quot; version of the game with detailed graphics<br />
- 0.9.0 camouflage mechanism re-work confirmed (SS: apparently even Russian players now take FTR as a source, I am glad :) either way, the mechanism change announced by SerB will take into account partial vehicle cover)<br />
- camo coefficient bonuses given by camo nets, visual camo etc. will be reworked

Currently I am working on the British artillery.<br />
<br />
First I want to say that there is no need to write a lot of questions - think first and ask later - I am not a community moderator or producer, I have to work.<br />
<br />
<b>1) Standard deviation limit - how it was and why</b><br />
<br />
Limiting the aim spread to 1,3 standard deviations before 8.6 (SS: explained here) had, in my opinion, very bad influence on gameplay in general. The principles are generally known I think. When the management decided to change it, I started to think about possible variants of implementing this.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, the first variants were very raw and presumed an &quot;accuracy nerf&quot; of all the vehicles in the game. I was still inclining to the 3-sigma limit variant and not even meetings with Michale Zhivets (Storm) and Maksim Bladyko (chief server programmer for World of Tanks) convinced me otherwise. But in the morning before a very important meeting on this topic in Minsk, I went for a walk and as it happens, it wasn't in vain. It became clear to me that the 3-sigma limit has several significant weakenesses, apart from the increased spread distribution for all the vehicles in game:<br />
<br />
- since the difference between 2-sigma and 3-sigma is only 2,14 percent, there will be mods made immediately depicting the aim circle as 2-sigma. After all - why wait for the fully accurate aim circle from 3-sigma and give the enemy more time to cope with you, when the difference between 3-sigma and 2-sigma is so small?<br />
<br />
- the distribution will still focus on the center and the accuracy nerf, which I assumed to implement until that morning, won't suffice. If Storm went to the meeting with that solution, it would result in a fail (and bad karma for me).<br />
<br />
So I called Storm in panic and told him that our solution sucks. But - as it often happens - the second I said it, another solution came to me by itself.<br />
<br />
When considering shooting in our game, the difference between 1,3-sigma and 2-sigma is not all that great and - connected with a camo factor change it might not be even spotted by our players, because the effective battle distance will increase (more on that further on). The solution to fix it with one more sigma (between 2 and 3) came by itself from the previous meetings with Maksim and Misha (Storm).<br />
<br />
But some players <i>(SS: arty players)</i> won't have their effective battle distance increased, so these players had to recieve a spread radius modifier. The value of this modifier was discussed by us and Dmitry Dragunov (aka Marschig), who represented the arty players' interests. After the supertest testing, I still think that 50 percent represent a rather small buff (!) of accuracy for arties. On the nerf of arty I will post further.<br />
<br />
<i>SS: at this point there is a table posted in the original post. What it means is percentual chance for a shell to drop inside the aim circle (within its borders, not ON the borders or outside them (which gets &quot;normalized&quot;) to drop on the borders):</i><br />

<i>SS: the meaning of this table is - first column are the parts of the aiming circle, with the last line being its border. Other columns are: Old system (how it is now), 2-sigma and New system (0.8.6+). In other words, right now, you have a 19,36 percent chance of the shell going on the borders of your aim circle, in the new system, you will have only 0,27 percent chance of aiming for the aim circle edges. Another example: today, you have 48,43 percent chance of your shell going to the inner half of the circle, in 0.8.6 it will be 70,41 percent.</i><br />
<br />
<b>2) Vehicle camo changes</b><br />
<br />
Our camo system with multiplying visual camo coefficient and camo net coefficient has one big disadvantage, as all the systems such as this do: increasing size of the vehicle very quickly decreases the effectiveness of such devices. The decision to replace the multipliers with addition (SS: as in by adding some value instead of multiplying with it) was taken already in 2010-2011 by me, Maksim Bladyko and Pasha Vasilev (server structure architect for World of Tanks), but back then there was no visual camo coefficient (5 percent), so we didn't do it. This topic was brought up repeatedly in 2012 by L.Zacharchenko, chief game-designer for World of Tanks. Gradually, a snowball turned into an avalanche, which in the end was the reason for plans for the complete camo system rework.<br />
<br />
I alread wrote enough letters, but basically we did the following:<br />
<br />
- reworked all the camo factors in the game, based on the reference tanks (T-4, T-34) (SS: here, Zlobny probably means Panzer IV, not sure) and on extreme cases<br />
- reworked the influence of shooting on camouflage, based on how it was before, but under the new system, so the &quot;I just shot&quot; negative modifier will be subtracted in the equation, rather than multiplied as it was now<br />
- reworked the camo factor of camo net and visual camo based on the type of the vehicle (not individual vehicle, as it was before)<br />
- reworked the camo bonus for bushes. This is a big topic, so a short version only: currently, maximum bonus from the bushes can be in 0.8.6 obtained by 4 thick bushes, instead of 2 not-thick bushes (pre 0.8.6). Furthermore, the exploit of firing thru the &quot;non-transparent bushes&quot; (skilled players will know about this and others don't really need to know) will be fixed completely. It is also worth noting that the battle (engaging) distance will increase by 15-20 percent.<br />
<br />
A collossal amount of work was done on this, there were many tests and I really like the final version.<br />
<br />
<b>3) Penetration change</b><br />
<br />
A very painful topic for me, I did that only very reluctantly. Generally it turned out better than I expected, I won't write much - you all saw the numbers.<br />
<br />
<b>4) Arty nerf</b><br />
<br />
We did that together with Dmitry Dragunov, he fought for every split percent because I fear that we didn't nerf it enough, but I am generally satisfied by the numbers we sent to the supertest.<br />
<br />
I wanted to make arty into a more complicated class with less possibility to fight on very short distances without diminishing the influence of the arty on combat there, where it is needed. New vehicles fit in very well, but I had some issues with SU-122A and M44.<br />
<br />
XP buff wasn't done by me, thus I won't comment on that.<br />
<br />
<i>SS: Well, that's it. As always, a summary of info from the comments, given by Zlobny and others.</i><br />
<br />
- camo skill won't be reworked (they decided it's not needed: &quot;camo skill is more about positioning the tank by the crew better, but even if you position better, a Maus is still a Maus&quot;)<br />
- vehicle camo factors won't be disclosed, but from now on, they directly depend on vehicle size and class (can be estimated by sight)<br />
- camo skill will remain useless on big vehicles<br />
- it's possible American vehicles will be rebalanced in 8.7<br />

Tournament rules:<br />
Team captain obligations:<br />
Rules infringements must be posted within 15 minutes after the round end in a dedicated thread. After the deadline passes, reports will be deemed invalid.<br />
All team captains must keep up to date on the forums.<br />
Vehicle limitations:<br />
No specific vehicles are prohibited.<br />
Use of premium tanks, shells and consumables is allowed.<br />
Total tier points for a team must not be less than 20 points and no more than 42 points.<br />
If any team member is missing from the team, the total tier point limit is reduced by 1 per missing player.<br />
Declarations of tank choices before the game are not required.<br />

Players:<br />
A team roster must consist of 7 players, and may include up to 4 registered reserve players. Team must be fully registered and accepted before playing (A reserve player may replace a primary player at any time).<br />
Each player can only play for one team in one tournament, cup or championship<br />
Any player can change team if they want. Players are not allowed to play for a new team within 10 days of their departure from their old team, and may not take part in any games and tournaments of his new team during this period. This also applies to newly registered players playing for an existing established team but not for entirely new teams.<br />
A banned player whos ban has recently expired cannot play in any new teams or participate in an existing team for 30 days after the expiration of their ban.<br />
Naming:<br />
Once the team has been created, it cannot change its name (please be very careful when naming your team).<br />
Team and player names must not violate the wargaming.net naming rules; any team violating these rules will be disqualified.<br />
Wargaming.net staff or affiliates are not prohibited from playing unless they are part of the tournament administration, these people will be stated. (Only a maximum of 2 Wargaming.net employees and/or affiliates per active team are allowed).<br />
Victory conditions:<br />
Each battle lasts for 10 minutes.<br />
To win a game, the team will need to destroy all enemy vehicles or capture the enemy base.<br />
The first rounds will be played in the “Best of 1” mode.<br />
Subsequent rounds will be “Best of 3”. Under this rule, a team which wins two games wins the match.<br />
 The final is “Best of 5”. Under this rule, a team which wins 3 games wins the match.<br />
If a match ends in a draw, both teams will be disqualified for passive play in a best of 1 game. In best of 3 and best of 5 matches the below rule applies.<br />
If a match ends in a draw, we will use the 8 tier points rule. &quot;In the case of a draw, the total tier points of surviving tanks will be added up for each team. A team with 8 tier points advantage over their opponent will be the winner&quot; (This must be checked with a screen shot posted on this specific forum within 15 min of the game’s end) - if there is no clear winner then both teams are disqualified. <br />
Starting spawn points for all games will be automatically allocated by the system<br />
Games cannot be replayed unless an issue with the set up causes a problem. Unfortunately we will be unable to restart games due to disconnections or PC crashes<br />
Maps:<br />
First round games will be held on the map Prokhorovka.<br />
All other rounds will use the following pool of maps: Abbey, Ensk, Himmelsdorf, Mines, Prokhorovka, Ruinberg, Widepark.<br />
Casters and admins:<br />
Official casters will be stated before any tournament starts on the forum by the admins Bump, 0xyde or Berbo, if an official caster requests entrance to a game then they must be invited.<br />
In case of a dispute, the ruling of an admin is final.<br />
Replays:<br />
Replays must be recorded by the teams from the quarter final onwards. If replays are required (i.e. to resolve disputes between teams), the details on where to send them will be provided by the admins.<br />
How to get to the game:<br />
All games are played on the World of Tanks EU1 server.<br />
Teams are automatically invited into games, there is a great guide to this, and a guide on what to do when you have the invite!<br />
As there was some confusion in the past on how to move players to participate in a round, we have created a simple guide that should help you with any possible match-joining problems.<br />
In the event of a team-member violating any of the above regulations, the whole team will be disqualified.<br />
Additionally, every player is advised to carefully read the “How not to get declined” guide.<br />
Because of the special nature of the prize involving travelling outside of the European Union, there are some special requirements every participant must meet to be eligible to take part in this tournament. All team members of registered teams must:<br />

Have a valid passport (an ID card is not enough). The passport must be valid at least until the end of November 2013.<br />
Be eligible for a visa to Belarus.<br />
Be willing to provide Wargaming.net with any and all information (as well as a 35 x 45 mm up to date photograph) necessary to obtain a visa to Belarus.* The information will be requested by the European eSport team after the finalists of the tournament is known.<br />
Be at least 18 years of age on the day of the tournament final.<br />
Be a citizen of one or more and a resident of one of the following countries:<br />
EU (European Union) countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.<br />
EFTA (European Free Trade Association) countries: Norway, Lichtenstein, Iceland, Switzerland.<br />
Any of the following unaffiliated countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia or Turkey.<br />
Disclaimer for CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) citizens and residents:<br />
The following countries included: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.<br />
Teams composed of players from the above countries must participate in the tournament organized on the RU server.<br />
Teams will still be eligible to participate if they have up to one member from any CIS country.<br />
Be willing to provide Wargaming.net with the scan of the main page of your passport upon reaching the tournament finals. This means that all four teams who get to the finals are obliged to send in a scan of the passport to the European eSport team. This rule is in place to verify possible tournament winner nationalities to verify compliance to the above rule.<br />
Infringement of any of the above rules will result in immediate disqualification.<br />
