Why is it So Addicting?

Anything that allows you to simulate a fantasy environment(escapism) and inject genuine socialization will be addictive. As humans we crave socialization and and escape from the usual, so something that provides both will be infinitely entertaining.

the only reason you can talk to people on WoW and runescape is because of the shear ammount of players, i play a game called wurm, relatively small community yet almost everyone is friendly, i prefer the wurmians to the wow nerds...

games like runescape are addicting because you want money and you want to explore the whole world, you want to find new monsters and u want to find new weapons ect ect ect.
myself, i hated runescape lol, played for 20 seconds and logged off, hated the grafix and the click-kill thing was pathetic, no skill required.
i hated WoW because it was a button mash
i prefer 1st person combat, wher u control where you hit like in darkfall and darkfall was the only combat oreintated mmo ive enjoyed
wurm is the only non combat oreintated mmo ive enjoyed...
everyones different and everyone gets hooked on diffy games for diffy reasons, tho only person who truely knows the reason is you, you just need to figure it out

i also dissagree to this, people get addicted to different things, i have several friends who cant stand gaming for that reason lol, they hate fantasy. i play a game for something to do, and if i like it i will continue playing it. thats all, im not an addict of gaming because its a fantast environment, some people(like me) who live in the country with no way to get to my friends(who live 20-40 kms away)i play games with them, just to be able to speek to them on a daily basis and maintain a friendship with them. iif it was the case that EVERY human thrived on a virtual environment and being able to socialise with random 60yearold pervs pretending to be 14 yearold girls on the net then EVERY human would be sat at their computer 24/7 playing every single computer game out there, but we DONT, people have real lives and ejoy them more than virtual reality

Haha! Like boss Mobs! It's crazy! Tooks not less than 30 minutes and lost exp + town portal scrolls

 

what makes you addictive is depend on your liking and gamestyle. it could be the graphics or the community within game. or you found something that u havent found in the first game u try...
