    Should we have a shameless promotion forum to have one place where newbies can advertise all their crap at? I have seen similar sections in other forums. We could move all the UGC and point discussions/begging there too.

    To be quite honest, I can practically smell the spam wafting in. We don't really seem to have any massive issues with stuff like this at the moment, and creating an advertising/begging forum is basically an invitation for chaos.

    I do see the merits, but this thing could definitely backfire. :\

    I agree with you Noche, it could look like we encourage people to advertise. The few times we have people doing it is solved quite fast and they do it randomly anyway. (If someone wants to spam advertisements, do you think they would put it in an area where no one will look or in a much-visited area?)

    Poll works. I don't think it would encourage more spam though. If someone is going to spam, they are going to spam, regardless of what section. However, this would root out some of the more "respectable" spammers.

    Plus I think we're ignoring the fact that we aren't endorsing spam by having something like this, it is a place for promotions. There are plenty of quality product websites that I'm sure we would be interested in. It's just that yes, some would be junk. I think everyone is classifying promotion as spam instantly, and that's not true. There are tons of great sites out there that simply don't have people looking at them.
