Realm of the Mad God is such an odd game, and I really enjoyed playing it -- did so while my computer was in the repair shop quite a bit. :)

It's easy to forget. Primarily because of the permadeath. I am a little bit reckless when I'm having fun and as a result, I got killed quite a few times. Also, it means that if I don't have a class I'm looking forward to getting levelled in a few hours I don't go back except to roam the countryside.

It's a good time waster; but I haven't gone back to it except when extremely bored or if I have nothing else to do.

Oh, that's easy! Also due to the premadeath, starting a new character and just getting going is really, really simple and still a great deal of fun. So all is needed a time and a bunch of newbies and then everyone can get rockin.

In fact, the game is better when more people are on the same mission.

Don't be sorry for giving your honest opinion when you are asked for it:). Nelson wants as much feedback as possible, good or bad.

Oh yes, feedback is good. I'm just trying to find a style that's amusing, but doesn't take nine hours to make a video.

As for Realm of the Mad God, it's fun, but then, I do like the hardcore permadeath aspect. You can see in the video that I maxed out my levels, while in the chat you could watch other people dying in droves.

That's something you'd have to consider while playing. Any given character is expendable and will die to something. In fact, you almost need to kill them off to unlock new character classes.

    It's weird like that.

Well, permadeath isn't really my thing =/

It'd be one thing if you lost all your levels and kept the items. It's another to lose completely everything.

You don't lose everything. Back at base, there's a storage chest for you. Anything you throw in there can pass on to your next character. Granted, it's not a big chest...

Never been into the whole permadeath thing either but this game has still peaked my interest, no clue why. Enjoyed the video Nelson.

yea i've created 2 other 'mule' accounts. That still doesn't help because the main account you play on...it's only logical you give him the best gear.

    Even then it's a bummer.

Yeah, the permadeath aspect has always been a weird part of the game.

Of course, I think that it's possible to pay for a bigger chest (supporting the game with microtransactions) the permadeath is mostly mitigated because characters level up really quickly and with a concerted effort.

It does make a different sort of event when going after the Mad God because dying during a raid is really dying (and has some time sink to it). After all, there's no running back to get thy corpse. :)

Thanks. It's a really easy game to get into. The permadeath is even worked into the game, you need to burn through characters to unlock new classes and other things. So even if your character bites it, you're still making progress.

I think Realm of the Mad God is possibly the first game I've seen where the premadeath is part of the mechanics for actually playing the game...

Wow, I just reminded myself of Planescape: Torment. :)
