Online Shooter Showdown

GameOgre.com's Seventh Annual Online Shooter Showdown!

This year's tournament consists of 16 FPS and TPS games. Each game goes head-to-head with another game until only one online shooter is left standing. The winner will be named the Online Shooter of the Year for 2014.

Showdown:

Week 1, 2, 3 - Predictions

Week 4 - Elimination round. 4 Match threads(polls) are opened:

- 5th seed vs 12th seed - winner goes to quarterfinals and gets seeded as 5th
- 6th seed vs 11th seed - winner goes to quarterfinals and gets seeded as 6th
- 7th seed vs 10th seed - winner goes to quarterfinals and gets seeded as 7th
- 8th seed vs 9th seed - winner goes to quarterfinals and gets seeded as 8th

Week 5 - Elimination round. 4 Match threads(polls) are opened:

- 1st seed vs 16th seed - winner goes to quarter finals and gets seeded as 1st
- 2nd seed vs 15th seed - winner goes to quarter finals and gets seeded as 2nd
- 3rd seed vs 14th seed - winner goes to quarter finals and gets seeded as 3rd
- 4th seed vs 13th seed - winner goes to quarter finals and gets seeded as 4th

Week 6 - Quarterfinals, part 1. 2 Match threads(polls) are opened.
The matches are:
- 2nd seed vs 7th seed - winner goes to semifinals and gets seeded as 2nd
- 3rd seed vs 6th seed - winner goes to semifinals and gets seeded as 3rd

Week 7 - Quarterfinals, part 2. 2 Match threads(polls) are opened.
The matches are:
- 1st seed vs 8th seed - winner goes to semifinals and gets seeded as 1st
- 4th seed vs 5th seed - winner goes to semifinals and gets seeded as 4th

Week 8 - Semifinals, part 1. A match thread(poll) is opened.
The match is:
- 2nd seed vs 3rd seed - winner goes to final as 2nd seed, loser gets ranked as 3rd in the overall standings

Week 9 - Semifinals, part 2. A match thread(poll) is opened.
The match is:
- 1st seed vs 4th seed - winner goes to final as 1st seed, loser gets ranked as 4th in the overall standings

Week 10 - Finals. A match thread(poll) is opened. The winner of course wins the showdown, the loser gets ranked as 2nd in the overall standings.

Some notes:
1 - in case of a tie at the end of the voting, the game with the lower seed wins due to the fact it managed to secure a draw despite being the underdog. That way we avoid any unnecessary delays.
2 - in case of a tie at the predictions where the seeding is determined, ogreman should rank tied games at random as he is the most unbiased person for the job
3 - in case of delays with starting of match threads/debate threads, the end date for the voting does not get moved to a later date unless we're talking about a major delay that could affect the outcome of the voting.
