Combat System
I've noticed the following about the combat system:
(1) There is a random factor involved. For our current game, the attack and defense factors used in an attack can vary by 50% from the attack and defense rating.
(2) In addition to the attack and defense ratings (which use the number of units), the number of units of the attacker and defender come into play. It is possible for a numerically inferior attacker with a superior attack factor to "succeed" but still lose more units than the defender.
Has anyone formed a hypothesis as to how the relative number of units of the attacker and defender affect the outcome? I speculate that the attack and defense factors determine "success" insofar as whether the attacker collects gold, but the unit numbers and the attack and defense factor determines how many units are lost.
