I think it's absolutely necessary to add Half-Life.

No, not Counter-Strike, it's a great mod, but without Half-Life, we would have almost no innovations in FPS games for a long time.

Seriously, I have yet to find 1 FPS game not affected by HL.

Then vote against it. Games are not going to be removed.

how about Tremulous, or maybe Savage 2: Battle for Newerth? i havent played them, but they both combine shooter with RTS elements, which seems quite cool to me

So now games that give you viruses to mess up your computer are allowed?

No because some computers actually have anti virus, but that trojan is a particuly nasty kind if missed.

it seems strange that so many players play War Rock, i even know someone who plays it, but you are the only case i've heard of that got a trojan

did you get the client off the actual website of War Rock or a trusted mirror site?

what antivirus do you use?

did it actually mess up your computer, or did the antivirus just display a warning? it may well be a false positive...

The idea of having this thread before the tournament starts is to give forum members input in adding games to the tournament. Removing a game because one member's AV program finds a virus leaves every game vulnerable to the same thing. That just hurts the tournament.

Like it or not, War Rock has been a major free online shooter for years and belongs in this tournament. We are not saying viruses are Ok or anything like that.

If you want it removed bad enough, you would need to prove that War Rock really does give a virus to all players. Other than that, it stays. As mentioned before, you are free to vote against it. Judging by comments, I doubt it will win anyway.
