Nintendo Switch's Paid Online service has been delayed to 2018. Nintendo has now given pricing for multiple regions, US pricing is as follows:

    1 month - $3.99
    3 months - $7.99
    12 months - $19.99

Online play will be free until the launch of the paid service in 2018. When the paid service launches it will include access to a Online Lobby & Voice Chat app, Nintendo eShop Deals and what they are currently calling... Classic Game Selection.

Classic Game Selection (name subject to change) - Subscribers will get to download a compilation of classic titles with added online play, such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario.

eShop itself, friends lists, sharing screenshots to social media and parental controls will all remain free for everyone.

They are still pretty hard to get in most areas of the US. Would recommend using a site like zoolerts to track online inventory... even the biggest shipments seem to still sell out in an hour or less tho. Otherwise it's a matter of throwing darts at the wall and hoping a shop has it in stock lol.

I would order one but the shipping prices here are outrageous.

Makes sense, store stock usually better or worse than mainland US?

Older items its about the same. New items seems like you have 200,000 people fighting for the 20 items they have instock. I cant wait to get back to the mainland.

You would think with a older item like that it would be less of a demand.

Indeed but normal rules never apply to Nintendo. They tend to be conservative with supply numbers which doesn't help but it's just selling well still too. They shipped around 7 million units last year.
