    Maybe something like, "I'll be busy on Valentine's Day". That sort of response just shows that you're uninterested, you didn't plan ahead for a special day, or you forgot. And besides, even if you were busy, you could just spend one or two hours of your time buying a gift anyway (e.g. just walk to the Valentine's Day section of your local store and buy a bear plush, a flower, or something).

    People who say that they don't have time do in fact have time; they're just not making proper use of the time that they have. As the old saying goes, seize the day! Gather ye Rose-buds while ye may.
