Yeah, wish I could have avoided getting another PC, but the Alienware was keeping me in limbo. If it ever gets fixed, it will just be for games.

Well, I think my Alienware is finally fixed:). They replaced both of my video cards and the motherboard. It seems to be little noisier, but I can live with that.

Agree its cheaper to build yourself. If you have the money, and alot of time to research your materials, you can build a computer in one weekend. Most of the stuff is just plug and play. Start with your motherboard. Then next would be your "brain", I.E Intel Pentium. or AMD athylon. then after that it is a breeze.

I built one for my friend a few years ago, and the price came up to around Half the price of what an Alienware was..His PC was speced to exactly what a top of the line Alienware was. Meaning same motherboard, graphics card, soundcard, etc. he even had a higher watt power supply.

Kinda sux just the name "Alienware" bought the pc up to a couple of grand. Same Specs no alienware name, and the total price of his PC was atleast Half of what Alieware offered.

Alienware is also a lot about being fancy. For example, both my system and keyboard can glow any color I want and it has a thermal system that you can track. However, I doubt that I will be another one. I think it is best to buy just one and then add on to it for a few years:).

    Glowing stuff is awesome...

but that stuff can use your computer resources and slow it down too..(not glowing, the thermal tracking can though.)

Slow down an alienware computer? They're expensive and a ripoff, but they are POWERFUL nonetheless. No one can deny that. I doubt that lights will slow down that monster.
