Coasting and Forum Games

Ok, this needs to be said once and to be kept in mind. Forum Games should not be the main source of your posts especially if you are getting games and cards etc. We once had a member who was challenging myself in posts, but the problem is that nearly all of his posts came from forum games. I finally had to tell him that we are not going to pay for forum games. Simply put, forum games themselves do nothing to really help the forum.

Forum games were made to help members get their post counts up or to interact with other members of the community. However, they were never meant to be the biggest area in the forum in terms of posts. Not crazy about that at all and even considered deleting some of them. Wont do that, but we are looking to take any advantage out of them going forward.

We have a great big forum with many members over the years and various areas for almost every possible topic. This is where the majority of posts should be. Would also like to see more ongoing discussions and great threads with a great amount of details. In fact, we may start rewarding those much more.

That said, here a few things that we are doing to try to lessen forum games moving forward.

1. Anybody who normally receives a card or game after a certain period will have that period extended further if their main activity is forum games. In other words, a member who does substantially less should not expect a card or game in the same time frame before the drop started.

2. Those who are Royal Ogre candidates, but fall back and coast with only a few posts or forum games will be delayed in joining this ACTIVE group. This coasting is seen in the current Event right now and will not help anybody become a Royal Ogre if it stays like that.

3. We are eventually going to phase out Forum Games from Events. It will still get forum points and count towards post counts, but Forum Games need to stop being rewarded past that.
