    I've only done it in games with gender-locked classes and temporarily in games where you can switch back, like in runescape there was a quest that required it and in kingdom of loathing female characters get a good boost from an item that I needed to make use of for a time... and then I switched right back.

    I know a lot of players that play the opposite gender character, but it's mostly guys who play as female characters. Can't say the same about girls playing as male characters.
