So I'm getting a laptop that will have a core i7, 8 gigs of ram and a NVidia 640M (Kepler) inside. What type of FPS can I expect on max settings?

depends from the game it self,if the game is using more cpu you will have a great fps and if the game is using gpu you will have average fps.
