How much eggs need to spawn chicken?

I was lucky,yesterday i only need 1

 

Well it's a 1/8 chance, but if you're trying to make a chicken farm, what I would recommend is creating an egg farming contraption. It's a good idea to trap a chicken first, then have a bunch of hoppers below the chicken connected to a chest, then creating a glass wall around the area, then fill the place up with more chickens when you get more eggs.

 

According to Minecraft Wiki it is one in eight chance to spawn a chicken from eggs so basically you need at least 8 eggs to spawn a chicken.
Have your chickens in a little pen so you can collect your eggs easily or make collection process more automatic by placing hoppers under that chicken pen and make those hoppers transfer those eggs to a chest (normal or big depending on size of chicken pen), you can take those eggs from when you need them.

 

It just depends on your luck I can mostly spawn 3 or more chicks from 16 eggs

It usually takes around like 3-8 for me. What's harder is taming parrots and wolves.

 

For me it depends in chance but 1/10 would be good to spawn chicken

 

anything can happen and you need luck the most
