    Things necessary:
    1 bag of ice
    2 fan

step1: take fan and point at computer
step2: put bag of ice between computer and fan
    step 3: turn on fan
step 4 watch as computer temperature goes back to normal

this can also be adapted to make an air conditioner by putting the bag of ice in a shopping basket and the fan on top of the shopping cart

Or.. go out and spend $30 on a decent internal fan or nice laptop cooling pad.

There is nothing to be afraid of, use compressed air to clean it in most safest way :)
Just blow away the dust and you will lower his temperature for 30 C :)
I use it every month or two on my desktop and my laptop :)

This. If anyone here has an Xbox 360 I also recommend doing this regularly. I have the Elite so it's not as much of a deal but even so that thing gets really dusty and with all the problems the old white models had with RROD.. yeah. Compressed air is great though, just wish it wasn't so damn expensive.

I tend to open up the comp every 6 months and vacuum the dust inside, often there isn't much dust inside, because I keep a tidy room.

You don't have to open the whole laptop, i just open the slot where my RAM memory is placed, then i blow the dust inside and it all comes out where the fan is :)

Forewarning which you may or may not know, be careful when using a vacuum to clean the inside of a computer, most vacuums produce a lot of static electricity which can damage components of the computer. It's recommended to use a battery powered vacuum designed for no static or compressed air if possible. Are the chances high something will happen? No, but it is possible.

Added to that, make sure whenever you are working on the inside of your computer hardware/tower that you discharge your static electricity. By constantly touching the power supply with one hand you can safely snoop around in your computer. Use this tactic if you do not have any static discharge products handy.

Also make sure you are grounded and do not shuffle your feet.

if it has a cooling fan, it will.
A lot of dust get's inside and the best way to get rid of it is to blow it away :)
