    AS of right now probably the RIFT closed beta over last weekend. Was so horrible I think I was getting like 8 fps. Hopefully they fixed some of the optimization before the next closed beta event.

    rs is only laggy if u have a bad...well i guess thats all games really lol.

    if have a bad processor, graphics card, RAM and internet connection....your pretty much screwed =p.

    That or windows Vista....that thing is crap to me....so many problems lol. XP or 7. or mac if u can afford that...

    while on most games the lag is on ur side,
    some games the lag is on the provider's side like darkorbit

    Actually graphics card and RAM are basically the major factors in the "lag" in Runescape.

    My netbook is pretty laggy cuz my specs suck lol. [High speed wifi. Bad graphics card]

    Computers at school run it faster than mine. They have the same graphics card series but a higher RAM. [DSL Internet]

    Computer in the living room [When I used to play it on Dial-Up] has the same RAM. Better used Graphics Card though. Used to run so much faster compared to my computer oddly....Only dropped connection every 3 hours for 10 seconds or so.

    So if you have a beast computer for gaming...honestly lag isn't going to affect you at all....

    this vote is really unfair though lol....runescape uses Java

    all the others use flash....how fair is that even....flash coding is so easy while java takes forever and is extremely complicated with much more server load...Bigger games take up bigger memory (amounts)

    Er, Java runs faster than Flash, for much the same reason that C++ runs faster than Java. So in terms of code language, Runescape should be running faster.
