League of Legends: Yorick, the Gravedigger discussion

A Yorick on the team essentially makes the game 4v5.

His base stats are poor, and he doesn't seem to fill any specific role in the game.
He can't take a beating whatsoever, so he can't tank.
He is slow.
His only form of initiation is a speed buff, but he needs to waste his most damaging move to be able to utilize it.
His only escape mechanism is a sub par slow with an extremely limited range, duration, and area of effect.
He doesn't do enough damage to carry.
His minions are so weak that any aoe wipes them out instantly, and even if you don't kill them they'll kill themselves.
He has serious mana issues.
He's not a support and has nothing to contribute to a team besides his ultimate, which is just a pale imitation of Zilean's.

To sum it up, I think he's garbage.

Fortunately he's getting universally buffed next patch.

 

Who can counter yorick?

 

Trundle, bec he have lifesteal, but even then
the fight is unpredictable

 

If you are trying to be THE BEST of the BEST on top lane you have to know every tactic for your main champion even if you're playing against your counter! My main is Olaf and I've been playing against almost every type of counter or noncounter champion on top against me. Once even 1v2 and still owned them. So the thing is in practicing and if playing against a counter, just play def. Don't go kill him alone if you know he will wreck you. Stand still, wait for the minions to come to your turret, famr as much as you can, and when your jungler comes to gank try at least to take his flash, but not yours! Hope I helped ^_^

 

Whenever i play vs him i just farm because its hard to win lane without ganks vs him

If i see dat Yorick is picked before my turn pick come i usually take Rene or AA, but with AA u will lose early, untill u get tiamat :

Completly agree with u, just 1 thing if u play agressive champ ( Jax, Rene and rest ) i wouldnt go defensive/passive, if im sure in my mehanic with champ i will try out to outplay my enemy counter
