Have anyone noticed how almost every sci-fi MMO is either P2P, a room-based action game, a mecha-based game, or a room-based mecha-based action game? Except for Global Agenda which isn't just another room-based sci-fi style FPS. If I understand correctly, you only pay once.

I agree. Fantasy MMORPGs are WAY overdone.

Global Agenda changed recently. It was more confusing than it is now.

    How is it more confusing?

You know, I'm not even interested in sci-fi MMOs anymore. I'd LOVE to find a sci-fi MMO that's like an ACTUAL MMORPG, but there just doesn't seem to be any for me. It seems like fantasy games always have atleast some things I want.

The closest I get to a sci-fi MMORPG that I can play is a fantasy MMORPG with some steampunk or tech that is a bit ahead of their time and almost out of their theme genre like guns or hoverboards or carts or something. Carts in ROSE online, Hoverboards in FlyFF, and guns in some but not alot of different MMORPGs.

And have you noticed how every MMO with mechas is based around fast-paced mecha combat and nothing else? The only MMORPG mecha game I can think of is Age of Armor, and it sucked.

Similar problem with sci-fi MMOs that revolve around spaceships. All I do is fly in a spaceship the entire time.

There is still hope for sci-fi MMORPGs. Jagex is coming out with Stellar Dawn and Star Wars Old Republic could be awesome.

Steller Dawn might be good, but isn't it gonna be browser based? And SW:OR is gonna be another high-graphiced P2P game, so I don't even need to care about it.

I doubt Jagex would do anything but a browser game.

I am holding out for old republic. I can't wait for that game. I might have to check out global agenda though. I have heard some good things, and you can't always go by reviews because MMO's get updated, reviews don't.

Aw. man. I accidentally caught another glimpse of some more good MMORPGs that are sci-fi and aren't coming to NA or EU until either I'm in college and can't play for awhile, until I'm dead, or until everyone is dead (doom's day refer).

I wish these sucked, but Argo Online and Berkanix look so awesome. Even if my computer most likely couldn't play them. But then again, my computer has ran things I'm suprised it would run, but that doesn't help much.

Is this it? Is our last hope for decent Sci-Fi MMORPGs left to high def shooters with some "rpg" features and MMORPGs based off of star wars, star trek, star gate, battle star galactica or some other sci-fi show/movie that has the word "star" in it's name?

Oh, and post-apocalypse theme'd games and MMORPGs with small bits of sci-fi in them. Like I wanna play in a post-apocalypse world.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm looking for a low fantasy MMORPG or a MMORPG that's a mix between Sci fi and Fantasy.

I'm just saying I think it would be nice if there was a Sci-fi MMORPG that had all the good elements of an average fantasy MMORPG but with a sci-fi touch and it's own unique things that help it stand out from the rather samesy looking worlds of most fantasy MMORPGs.

If there's STAR in it, it's sci-fi. :drummer:

But, just to let you know, I'm not saying a new Star Wars MMORPG or an MMO(RPG) based off of star trek would suck.
