Old Games Tournaments?

    I was thinking about how cool it would be if we could make some tournaments for old games like warcraft, dawn of war, starcraft and stuff.
    Would that even be possible and what do u think about it? :)

    If a game doesn't require physically being in the same location to compete, it's totally possible, whether it's got a developer-supported system still in place or if it's based on hosting your own servers (à la freeciv). If a game lacks any sort of online functionality someone would have to design a basis for a competition, but it would require a certain level of trust among participants that nobody is violating the rules.

    there are a lot of software that help with the online play of old games like evolve, tunngle, game ranger, hamachi(which is hardest to set up and i dont like it personally).... :)

    Actually, I think it would work best with a Steam game :). We now have a plugin that was just installed that can help with that a lot.

    Name the best on Steam that are free or that we can probably get easily:). Think I have Plantary annihilation and it is in the shop too. For a MOBA we have Awesomenauts and it just had a free Steam weekend:).

    Brawlhalla is a popular Steam game that is free, less than 200 MB in size, and is set up for tournament type play:).

    Are we considering any other free/cheap steam games for OGT's and possibly tournaments like maybe terraria or something that can be played in multiplayer or coop? maybe we could make a list, where everyone can nominate up to 2 games and then wee vote, similar to MotM and GotM
