    gotta click the pokeball. hold it. it freezes the screen but you have to time it right.

    once the pokemon's HP hits red then you can capture it.

    it died 6+ years ago to me.

    Megaman = true
    Sonic = semi-true
    Mario = false

    Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 were both great. As was old school New Super Mario Bros.

    Sonic I would have said was true but I've been reading a lot of good things about the series taking a turn for the better as of late.

    Pokemon = never dies! The Pokemon formula will always work.

    It's just the same thing over and over again in the end. They don't change the character. They need to move onto new stuff.

    Basic game design principle that my teacher said:

    If you think of one idea(game) then that is one idea.
    If you change/add something to that idea then that is the same idea with minor alterations.

    Okami was the latest "breakthrough" in anything on a nintendo console for a while with a new character that they can actually "leech" off of.

    And technically pokemon did die already. The japanese actually ended season one. Every season after that is purely for the sake of making cash.

    Changing the "graphics" of a game (technically still 2d so you are just changing the perspective and adding further depth do the parts where you thought were crappy) is very small in a change btw.

    If pokemon really wanted to "wow" me....a handheld game would finally be able to use more than just 4 moves....
    sadly you only have 4 moves STILL! year after year after year. meaning it is the same scripting code.
