Problems with Steam

    Well, I've encountered some problems with Steam and I have no idea how to fix it, so I was thinking of asking for some help if you guys might know a solution :p Steam works fine on my PC, but somehow it doesn't work on my laptop.

    My laptop is an Acer Travelmate B113, and currently using Windows 7 Professional. I successfully downloaded Steam normally, and I can open Steam to where you log in. But whenever I log in, it just closes and doesn't respond. Steam.exe isn't running in the backgroun either, instead I can only find ''Steamerrorreporter''. I've already searched around in the Steam community for some possible solutions, with no success.

    Tried things like deleting everything in the Steam folder, except for Steam itself, to make Steam reinstall everything which didn't help. Also tried to delete and rename ClientRegistry.blob, run it as an admin as well as deleting the appcache folder. Nothing of that works, and just the same thing happens over and over again. I already wrote to Steam, but they still haven't answered (even though I started the support question a week ago).

    Maybe someone of you can help me with this problem? :p

    what is steam is steam a site or games get created there haven't seen it but only saw the link :)

    Must be a program refusing access to it or you don't meet a requirement to enter the Steam program. Have you checked all your AV, malware, and firewalls you have?

    Right Click Steam -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program in compatibility mode for... and try the different ones.

    I don't know if it will work or why it would matter lol but all I can really think of.

    I'm really surprised that the Steam support still haven't answered lol.

    I'm surprised it's taking them so long too. I tried to search around more for solutions but kept finding just the same stuff (reinstall stream, delete blob etc). It's an odd problem, hopefully Valve will have the answer.

    Perhaps they don't know what the problem is :p It shouldn't be because of my laptop though. My friends got the same laptop, and it works fine for him. Although we can't figure out why it doesn't work for me :p

    Well, they finally answered yesterday (awfully long time). Although their answer was of no help. They just came up with solutions I already tried :p
