    My reason is because I really like MapleStory and they have cute stuff to dress my characters and stuff to improve my gameplay.

    Really for me its none of the things you have listed. I dont care what a game looks like if I enjoy playing it. I dont think you should be able to buy your way ahead. You can never have too much money and nothing else to spend it on :p

    For me its sheer entertainment value. If its a great game that makes me want to play it, then Ill spend money on it if there is a subscription or something I really want that I cant get no other way. Im paying for my entertainment.

    I spend money primarily for looks. An MMORPG isn't an MMORPG without RPG, or role-playing. Thus, customization is one of the most important aspects of a game.

    I see it as entertainment. people pay to go to sporting events, movies, drinking, etc, and I pay to play video games, and I think thats perfectly okay

    Extra stuff, all day. I usually don't make a point of it to spend on mmo's because there's other games I feel you can get more out of. But I still do it :D The item has to be special, limited offer maybe but it has to have some appeal to it and can't be a regular item.
