World of Warcraft vs. Darkfall

Darkfall is a very innovative MMORPG that I admire, however, it is not at the stage where it is better than World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft is just a more polished, and fun product than Darkfall. And, they're both paid subscription games, so you can't complain about one being free and the other isn't.

 

WoW has more ppl so it will win but personaly i think it's a tie both seem good never played Darkfall before tho

 

Darkfall is all about potential about what it COULD be. WoW, on the other hand, is already great. I just hope Darkfall does not accomplish what Age of Conan almost did.

 

The old "it's got potential" argument, I normally rate an MMO on its current state.

-PvP is bad but better than Darkfall
-Not boring
-If you dont get addict You will have fun while leveling
-Dungeons are really great


Con's(WoW)

-When you get addictive you get far from the real life


i cant say something that is true about darkfall because i dont played the game and i dont think ill play

 

WoW against DF is like comparing a Hummer against a SUV. WoW FTW!

 

I preorder'd Darkfall when it was first released. You can't really compare the 2 games. Darkfall is full loot/open pvp and WoW is your traditional mmo. I quit Darkfall after its first 2 months and lost all desire to play it again when I found out to play on the new US server I had to purchase the game again. The game I played at the time wasn't even worth the original purchase. DF had all the right ideas, just failed at the execution. Have to give this one to WoW..

Darkfall all the way. I played beta in both.

Well, I guess if you need safety you should stick with WoW.
If you need intense PvP, Darkfall is for you.

 

Oh yeah, Darkfall has great PvP. But, WoW has pretty good PvP as well, and every other part of it is also very good, and Blizzard just keep tweaking it all the time, and adding content.

 

I respectfully disagree. Granted, I haven't played WoW since about 2 weeks after they added Battlegrounds.

Unless they have completely redone the entire system, I would say that comparing Darkfall PvP and WoW PvP, is a bit like comparing a Ducati with a tricycle. It doesn't matter how much you shine up and grease the axels of that trike, it's never going to be a Ducati.

I'd like to know if everyone that voted for WoW has even played Darkfall.

 

Yes, that's what I meant, Darkfall's PvP is fantastic, superior to WoW's, but that doesn't mean WoW's PvP is utter rubbish.

 

Very hard to compare the two mmorpgs, they are almost different games.

WoW is a huge ass themepark mmorpg that caters to basicly everyone. Devs make the content and the players play it. Players don't have any impact on the world - it's more like an advanced chatroom.

DF is a persistent world focused on player strife, without any instances (which is a good thing), where players actually has an impact on the world, hell players are the ones who creates the content by warring eachother.

So if you like a causal mmorpg where you can do stuff with your friends just for fun, and can live with not having any effect on the virtual world you live in then wow is fine.

If you want a more "real" world, without instances, where you can effect the world, and pvp has meaning (full loot) and player skill means alot - you have to aim and hit people - no heat seeking missiles - and with full friendly fire it means a small coordinated group can overcome the odds vs a larger unorganised group.

Basicly if you are into the oldschool mmorpgs like UO, AC Darktide, DAOC pvp servers, shadowbane, EVE then DF is for you.

 

wow is going to win. honestly i dont think most people want old school mmorpgs like eq and uo anymore. why play those games when you have wow?

 

World of Warcraft hands down

 

Many people that want competitive PvP need a game like Darkfall. In my opinion, WoW pvp is pretty much a joke.

 

WoW does have it's polish, but it has this certain facelessness to it. You just seem like one in a million people just like you, but in Darkfall I here of the heroes constantly in the game. I get into chats with people about the heroes of the taking down of the hyperion alliance in game.
