Give me three GOOD reasons why Runescape is better than World of Warcraft. Anybody who gives WoW a zero should be able to do that!

    Gameplay
I base my gameplay of off the whole game not just killing or skilling variety helps as well.
    -

    Quests/ Storyline
How about some members quests there's great variety and many of them intertwine only a quest cape holder that hasn't used a guide or similar would understand I suppose some more Grand Master quests wouldn't kill them (waits patiently for more about Mahjarrat, dragonkin and the like)... I'll agree that many F2P quests as well as some of the lower members quests aren't the best but as a quester first and foremost I'd chose RS for quests against any other MMO. Some 160+ quests in Runescape not all of them are as bad as the ones released in 2002 or so... they have improved in leaps and bounds here.
    -

As for graphics RS has caught up quite a bit to WOW in terms of technology used not just from HD but also from RuneTek 5 engine upgrade (although it hasn't been implement in many places yet) they still have along way to go both are playing catchup to what they should be now though WOW is still noticeably better then RS.

It might make RS a little better if you set your graphic settings to this as mine doesn't appear blocky for the most part only trees up close go blocky.

    High Detail
    Resolution 1920x1200
    Remove roves - Selectively
Idle Animations - All (Seems to control swaying on players as well as breathing animations and some other animations that are on some NPCs)
    Character Shadows - On
    Lighting Detail - High
Anti - Alising - 4x (Set it here forced from the control panel doesn't seem to work)
Particles - High (Doesn't do much at the moment more to come with updates)
    CPU usage - Maximum
    Ground Decoration - On
    Flickering Effects - On
    Scenery Shadows - Dynamic
    Water Detail - High
    Fog - On
    Custom cursers - On

    Community
The community is nice to me I've had people help me though some of the most difficult quests show me half way around the world, bless my grave when I've died and just look at some of those clans especially the penguin clans seriously people stand there guarding them so it's easier for you for hours on end those penguins would be a pain in the arse otherwise similar story with much of the content there's usually some clan that specialise in it and is ready to help.

I will say there are some bad eggs like scammers (very hard to do now) and price manipulators (pyramid schemes) but the vast majority seem to be nice and helpful + it's nice to be able to be myself without being flooded once people know abit.

I guess we all have different experiences with communities if you ran into some of the bad then it's going to effect you more and more that it happens. It should be noted that many people play both games so there is some overlap and kind of hard to tell I suppose which has the best.
    -

I would like to have a go at anyone who's giving either game a 0 or 1 that's really not justified your making the rest of us look bad.
    -

Well I said it I love Fist of Guthix so that's my obvious reason for PVP and like I said before RS Quests have gotten better and better.
Although I wouldn't mind seeing WOW win either there both great MMOs :)
    -

+ 1 for portability as well I forgot about that although it's a main selling point of RS...

The graphics of a game really don't matter over gameplay, but doesn't matter cos WoW has better graphics anyway. But whatever, that's not the point. The point is, WoW has a more deeper storyline and more and better quests. See my post on Page 4 for an archive of all the quests in WoW, and some of the storyline (I say some, but really I should be saying a TINY LITTLE BIT). Runescape's quests are great, yes, but every other part of the game sucks, because every other part of the game is repetitive. The game's "skills" are a grindfest, the game's combat is better, but gets boring after a while of just endlessly killing the same monster over and over. PvP in both are good, but WoW is just more focused on the combat, so WoW's PvP is better. And WoW's PvE is better as well. And WoW has group quests and raids that are better than Runescape's ones (does Runescape have these actually?). Basically, WoW's gameplay and quests are better than Runescape. You can argue over unimportant things like graphics in your own posts if you want.

He dose have a point about monsters currently Runescape only has 3 good challenges on members Corporeal Beast, Nomad & Tormented Demons. They really could use with more!
Then there not even assigned by a slayer master so no chance of fighting 1 and getting slayer exp :(

I know some would point out God wars, mithril dragons, Jad and maybe a few more but there rather easy for me. At least some of them you can get slayer exp though I suppose.

I don't run into grindfest as I switch to something else after say 20 minuets so not much of a buildup. Yes it takes me many more months to a specific level but I still get there eventually. I usually only grind a level if I really need it to do a quest then the quest takes my mind of the grind after :)

World of Warcraft for me. I tried Runescape, and for a 5 dollar subscription per month vs a 15 dollar subsription for month, I feel RS is not worth 5 dollars per month, I dunno there just isn't enough game for me. WoW is massive.. But Runescape is still a fun game to play.

You only take 20 minutes on Runescape at each playtime? Then, do you play other games? Or do you only play 20 minutes of gaming every day? Anyway, getting off topic here... It's still a grindfest, even if you only grind a little bit every day. In WoW, if you do the quests, then you won't need to grind for much of the game.

Someone who hasn't played WoW long enough Thats who..I tried RS, its a great Time Sink game. I lasted for 2 weeks in RS. I lasted for 4 years in WoW. Although Blizzard entertainment customer service is one of the worst (EA tops Blizzard by far...Just saying)

WoW is way more immersed in all aspects over RS. I do miss WoW and my fello Hordies, and with the new Level caps and 2 more races under development. It may get me back into WoW. As far as RS and getting back into it? Nah, the 5 dollar Sub is not worth it at all. Runescape just doesn't seem finished to me.

About 20 minuets of "skilling" + then sometimes I do D & D events and what ever the update was if it was something I might like. Then I'll hit Fist of Guthix for bit and about once a week or so I drag myself to a slayer task or to kill something else.

Probably spend more of the playing time at FOG then the rest though.

I play alot of games just not very often or for long periods...

Ok guys really runescape is a great game but WoW is better the only reason runescape is winning is cause half the people that play runescape dont have the money for WoW but trust me ive played both of them for a long time WoW is better. WoW FTW

It dose make you wonder when you see some complain about WOWs price just how many more they might get if they lowered it. Maybe not to $5 a month necessary but maybe $10 - $12.50. Maybe offer a discount like AC dose or something along those lines?
    -

Similarly I wonder if RS would lose to many members if they put theres up? I know they put it up 95c but a bigger amount.

Both might even make more money if the subscribers didn't mind to much...

Yeah, WoW's price is what makes a lot of people not like it. But, Blizzard owns the MMORPG market now practically, so they can set the price. And plenty of other large commercial MMOs have followed suit and set a really high monthly fee.

And if Jagex put up the subscription fee for Runescape, a LOT of people will leave. I can just hear the protests on the internet right now in my head...

(12-20) I played with 60 year olds in WoW Your number falls way short on 12-20...12 to 20 is more like the Alliance side. Horde side in WoW attracts more of the adult community..Not sure why but it does.

In the 4 year span of me use to be a WoW subscriber as Horde I joined around a total of 8 guilds. After the Burning Crusade expansion, or towards the end of it Blizzard implemented a Ventrillo patch, meaning you can talk to other players in your Guild dureing, say a 40 man raid through a microphone.

So right off the bat you can hear how old someone can be in real life.( so you males that play female characters, you can not hide if you use ventrillo, so don't even try.) lol. Now that I think about it alot of the female characters ingame barely used ventrillo, but I also talked to alot of female players through ventrillo. Yes some females do actualy play MMORPG's for those who ever wondered.

The majorities of the people in alot of these WoW guilds(on Horde) side ranged from 18-50 year old people, with the eception of maybe a few that are in there 50's and 60's year olds. I know lol, but seriously they do exist on a MMORPG.

As far as the Alliance goes, just by reading alot of post in Blizzards offical WoW forums, alot of the Alliance players tell people how old they are in real life. The oldest Alliance player I seen was something like 25 years old. This is just going by the Blizzard forums, there may be some who are older, dunno.

Why are younger people attracted to Alliance more then Horde? Well it is a mystery, no one really knows.

Hmm I dunno as far as Runescape goes, to me looks like it is more of the younger age group that play it. Which can be why the Sub is pretty cheap..Not that is a bad thing. I tried RS but i wasn't crazy about the game itself, and the style of how the game is played.

I think I know why more adults join the Horde than younger people. From experience, when I was younger than now (when I was 12 and under), I always wanted to be the "good" side on any games I played, if a choice was offered to me to choose between the "heroes" (in my mind) and the "monsters", I would always choose the good side. Maybe it was just simply because I wanted to be a hero/good person than a robber/monster. Nowadays, with a more open mind, I play on the bad sides as well, because sometimes they just look cooler to me, and I know that ugly and monster-like doesn't necessarily mean bad.

In WoW the Alliance say Horde is the bad side, aswell as the Horde say Alliance is the bad side. Lol. Anyways if anyone decides to Subscribe to WoW, and you are 25+ I say roll Horde only reason, if you rolled Alliance, you will switch to Horde anyways, because to many kiddies play Alliance..See I just saved alot people a waste of time if they buy and subcribe to WoW.

I don't know about that. I have played with many cool old people on the alliance side. Either side, I prefer WoW. Runescape is too old school for me.
