Now, say I want to make a 2D game. I guess the team would comprise of a smaller group right? since we aren't using 3d graphics. so the team would be:
I know there are much more to this, such as you would need a producer, a marketing director, testers, etc. But I'm trying to understand what the BASIC requirement is for a team to create a 2D game vs a 3D game. You'd need a programmer, animator, and artist on both teams, and why not a level designer on the 2d team as well? However, 3D games require much more effort, so giving everyone a single job would be more efficient, while 2D games require less effort, so people could do several jobs, like you could have an animator who is also an artist.
