people tend to drink more when they create stress hormones such as adrenalin. Now that secretion may be caused by the game, but also for another possible reason.

Being exposed to sub-zero temperatures is also a cause for secretion of stress hormones, that's why you should keep drinking when it's really cold, if you don't it causes harm to your muscles (remember that the heart is also a muscle).

China has a land climate for the most part. It tends to get really cold during winter, furthermore it is a communist nation. Many Communist nations tend to have prefab housing blocks of the stalinist era, which are of very poor quality with almost no insulation. Also remember that China is a developing nation, they are poor!

Also consider that China is not just a communist nation, it is also a nation with chinese culture. A culture that puts a lot of effort in maintaining balance (yin yang) and is quite adverse to risk.

I don't think they're just banning the game because they fear that the large crowd of WoW players could pose a threat to the regime, they may also have a legitimate reason, whether the regime is abusing said legitime reason i don't know. The banishment may be an exaggaration I don't know, but death is not an exaggaration!

oh and there's another thing i forget to mention. China has a particularly nasty history of dealing with addiction. I'd say more so than any other country

I heard it from game reviews channel.. I forgot the show title but base on them they blocked China IPs to prevent macro users.. Power leveling company invades WOW and most of the gold sellers were came from CHINA.. I love that kind of system and I salute WOW for that.. good job..

Blocking based on GeoIP is not 100% accurate. I hear it is only 99% accurate on country level and 80% accurate within a 25 mile radius. Besides there are ways to evade such a ban with the use of a proxy site and there's plenty of those in Asia. Granted those things cost money, but I don't think it will make margins low enough to entirely prevent gold farming.

However I think it would surprise the WoW administration if all of the sudden IP's popped up that came from countries like I don't know North Korea for instance
