Some interesting passages are as follows: "There are a few modifications to the ruleset used for this module. 1. Death - When a player is hurt below 0 hit points, they will begin to bleed to death until they reach -10 at which point they die. A player will loose 1 point of health per round unless they are healed or their wounds stabilize. If their wounds stabilize (which there is a 10% chance each round), they will recover 1 hit point until they are above 0. An ally can stabilize your wounds with a healing kit or spell. If the healing is not enough to bring you above 0 hit points, you will recover 1 hit point per round until your above 0. Respawning will result in a loss of XP and gold. It will also return you to the nearest healer away from your party. There is no quick easy way to return to where you died. This is part of the penalty. 2. Resting - Resting is only allowed every 4 hours game time (8 minutes real-time). When a player rests, effects will be placed on them to recreate sleeping effects. These effects will go away if the rest is interrupted or completed. IMPORTANT: If a player stops/interrupts their resting period, they must wait another 4 game hours before they can rest again. Fellow players bumping into you can wake you up when you are sleeping just like real life. Resting restrictions can be disabled by using the Orb of Configuration (see #9). 3. Grenade like weapons - Acid flasks, alchemist's fire, holy water, tanglefoot bags, and thunderstones have been added to the game. Put them in a quickslot in order to use them. 4. Experience - The experience for defeating a creature in battle is calculated using the chart from the official Dungeon Master's Guide. This will result in two experience awards being displayed. The first reward will always read as 0 experience; this is normal as it is the experience award using the NWN ruleset. The second reward will display the correct experience per the DMG. If you are a sufficient level above the creature you are fighting, you might not receive any experience for that creature. 5. Starting Gold - All players will receive the amount of gold according to a random roll and based off the table in the 3rd Edition Players Guide. 6. Stealing - NPCs can become hostile if you attempt to steal from containers that are in their field of vision. Your success to steal the item is based on your hide skill and occasionally your move silently skill. NPCs can stay hostile indefinitely if they are counter attacked unless a means to clear your name is found. 7. Henchmen - There are four henchmen available: Jozan, Tordek, Lidda, and Mialee. They are located in the Ol' Boar Inn. You are able to hire multiple henchmen up to a maximum of three. In addition, each henchman will take their own share of experience you earn. If you hire multiple henchmen, it is HIGHLY recommended you hotkey the talk function to speak with the henchmen who are not directly under you in the party list. You may also speak with henchmen not directly under you by using the radial menu either on the henchman's portrait or character to select the talk function. When you speak with your henchmen, you can issue specific orders which include healing and opening objects. You can request for your henchman to level up once your character is a higher level than the henchman. All henchmen are 1st level at the beginning of the adventure. They will not be able to advance above 3rd level. You also have the ability to manage your henchman's inventory. Please see the readme file for details. 8. To improve system performance, you are able to destroy a corpse once it has been looted by selecting to bash the corpse from the radial menu. This will free up system resources if the game becomes too luggish or if items take several seconds to appear on a recently slain creature. You can adjust how the module handles corpses after being looted by using the Orb of Configuration (see #9). Please note, any items left on a corpse when the corpse is bashed will be destroyed. 9.
