Comment: tro is an enduring mmorpg that was never saddled with being the best mmo. despite one of the first it remains unkwon in the mainstream. many of my friends know about eq, uo, and meridian but not tro. that is sad.

Comment: The Realm Online has been around forever! The screen loading every time was a pain when I played. It should have been f2p from the start to get more players.

Comment: Yes, the graphics are outdated – but considering this was The First MMORPG Of All – they are amazing!

* Yes, Meridian 59 was the first MORPG Retailed *
*but The Realm was the first available for play.*

I still feel the squeeze of Nostalgic loss when I remember waking early to hunt Blood Fenri before they were hunted to daily-extinction.. and when 180sdm meant an Immo buff that leveled your newbies For You by just letting things hit you and die.

Comment: Fun game, but efforts could’ve been made in graphics and gameplay.
The community isn’t bad, but very boring game, in my opinion. Better off downloading another one if you want to play for long.

Comment: One of those games that you play for community instead of graphics or fancy features. I finally quit to play Tibia because of the price, but the Realm still has great people.

Comment: Great community that is fun to play with. Very few griefers here as we seem to be a more grown up bunch. Many of our online romances have turned into RL marriages with a ceremony help ingame :-).

Comment: Played this game AGES ago. Surprised it is still around. The community was fun but it had no end game at all. Thankfully WoW came along:).

Comment: Basically it boils down to hunting or trading. Not a bad game, but not very deep either.

  2. It reminds me on game I played a long time ago but that game was in 3d and this game is 2d.U also has level and per level you can max health mana and other. In game you are girl and you got quests as in Realm online. But this game is in 2d that is reason I dont like it.

  3. I never really had a connection with this game. The games graphics and the music is pretty sloppy. Also the game play is pretty lame as well. The controls are stiff like, there are too many restrictions. Therefore, I’d have to give this game a 1/5.

  4. This was a fun game, I remember playing this game the gameplay was fun with marriage features. I don’t mind the graphics since this is an old game where 2D games was still a hit.

  5. The Realm Online is an old MMORPG, and it seems to date back to 1997 during the infancy of the Internet and before World of Warcraft redefined the genre. Seems cool, though this game probably wouldn’t be able to compete against more modern MMORPGs today, so it’d only be fair to compare this game to other MMORPGs around the time such as Tibia or Ultima Online. I really like the point-and-click style of this game and how the overworld is presented since it gives the MMORPG experience a unique experience; you really get to see your character as well, which games like Ultima Online don’t do too great of a job at. The Realm Online, with how it’s presented, feels a lot more like your typical RPG than your modern MMORPG though, and I think that different MMORPG gameplay experience can actually be quite fun. Overall, I’d give this game a 4/5.
