Comment: This game was... well, interesting. It's a turn based battle system, and has many quests. The bad things are that you can't always get in. They have a server of mabey, 1400 people, members take up 900 of that, and they even get their own server. Not many people can play. Quests get really hard, and the ones that you can acctually complete are the boring, easy ones. Gets very repetitive.

Comment: It's not really action/shooter at all... it is an RPG because you create and develop a character throughout many storylines. Although, true, the server thing is annoying, most of AQ is free. The "become a guardian!!" thing gets old after awhile, but it really is a very indepth game. Plus, with its simple graphics, you can even play it on a super slow connection like dial-up. It's not trying to be WoW. It was started as a very small game and they never expected it to become as popular as it is.
But if you just can't get over the graphics (I mean, look at the old Twilly in the Moglin Forest- horrible!), go play MechQuest or DragonFable.
Also, I don't understand your problem with leveling up. Most people are amazed at how easy and fast it is to level up... I barely play at all and I'm over level 25.

Comment: A cute 2D anime 'action/shooter' game, but most certainly NOT an 'rpg' game. As for being a 'free' game, well after a few days playing as a new free player, you'll get sucked into the 'Adventurer' blackhole where you try to log in the server with little luck. Just a design feature to get you to pay for the 'Guardian or X-Guardian' account. By paying this one time 'fee', you'll get immediate access at log in, and get the 'privilege' to use the best weapons/armor in the game. Also this will unlock areas and quests not available to 'Adventurer' free accounts.
Anyways...I'll finish this review the same way I started it. A cute 'action/shooter' 2D game but NOT worth spending any money on or too much time playing it. Much better FREE and real RPG games available out there to waste time or even money on.

Comment: Just be VERY VERY aware of moderators. In fact, stay off the boards. It is controlled by people who love to be pandered to by sycophantic children. The forums are crippled by over bearing amount of rules and moderators(go check, theres a rule for everything imaginable). I understand the need for boundaries, but its so stifling that clans, clubs (especially 'Approved Clans') are virtually dead.
Contrary to anything written, it IS very easy to upset a mod and find yourself in the Cheater/Abuser/Time Waster Clan.... what they don't tell you, is that they will severely limit your play time (daily experience cap) thats laughable, but they will still take every bit of money for upgrades and tokens off you... its a scam.
There are far far better games out there. Ones that require skill and a bit of challenge. Ones that dont require money to be pumped in (though they innocently say you dont need to pay for things, incl Guardianship - its free). Go ahead, sign up for free AQ and see what happens when the honeymoon period ends; you will very rarely be able to login.
Play D2 if your hard up, wait for Mythos, even play Runescape, but stay away from this white elephant. But if you must, stay away from the forums!

Fighting system should be ungraded first, Not just jump and attack =/ better be techniques and style. I played it for like 30 mins reached lvl 14 got to know everything and every inch of what's free to play then noticed that if i payed money it'l be the same only more monsters even a text base is better than it, to tell you the truth lolz childs play.

I mean you can get Z tokens wich buy the rarest stuff , but in dragon fable you have to buy the stupid dragon coins. Also another thing is that if you are a mage you can strike with water , electricity, darkness and light. But dragon Fable is still way better though.

I have 2 charecters,1 is lvl 42,and 1 is lvl 40...i got the lvl 40 one to lvl 40....in 'bout 3 weeks or so. But u'll love the game.

-No Role-Playing whatsoever.
-Only two aspects to the game: battle and buying.
-Shallow and weak story, at best.
-Extremely repetitive.
-Forcing players to spend real money in order to access better parts of the game.
-Unoriginal and dull classes.
-The inability to do anything else besides battle and buying.
-Overused anime-style art.
-Very unoriginal monsters. Level 1: you fight rats, frogs and trees. Level 10: levelled up rats, frogs and trees. Level 20: No more trees! Instead, more rats and frogs. Etc...
Very dull game. Somehow managed to fall into the "RPG category". I still wonder how that happened...

I regret rating this game a 2 but i think the creators of this game can actually improve some stuff for example: players need to get around somewhere instead of just appearing some place, could have better graphics, and the game shouldn't just be about fighting. But I really feel bad for the creators because so many people say bad things about this game, I mean c'mon... the makers of this made this game for you people to have fun with, not to just blabber bad things about it. Comment: Okay, I'm a die-had AQ fan. Lots of people love the game, lots of people hate it. Guardianship is awesome in my opinion because fir a e-time fee of $20, you can access the stuff that REALLY gets you into the game.
The graphics are not the best, but they are improving thanks to our new artists. The gameplay is turn-based, but compared to other turn-based RPGs, I have to say, this has the most interesting plot and best gameplay.

Comment: 1. Adventure Quest is hardly Lunch-Sized anymore. Its growing, evolving and the plot is actually there. Its been much more Plot-Induced than previous years. Much more.
2. While its not the best game, its definately not the worst, the Graphics are getting better. I dare you to look at the old Drakel or the Old monster pictures, and compare them with The Hollow's and ReverendWyrm's Art, both of which just joined in this last year or so.
3. DragonFable and MechQuest, are both farming games, both games come down to one thing, Repeating a quest over and over to gain and or get rewards. DragonFable's plot is getting slightly better, and MechQuest has some plot, but at this point its a mockery to called DF or MQ a better game than AQ, unless you like farming.
4. To some that say AQ is satan or whatever. Umm bias much? The game isn't that bad, just because you can't log onto the servers doesn't make it a bad game. You should be blaming the players of the game for LIKING it so much, rather than blaming the Makers for making such a damn good game.
((Oh and for the record, Guardianship is a ONE-TIME only payment, not monthly.))
I give it a 9, it doesn't get a 10 quite yet, but its a damn good game none-the-less

The weapons, armour, and status become essential for challenges, making people think of right choices and right strategy(necro noobs -.-)
4)>Updates EVERY thursday
5)>Can Earn Z-Tokens buy fighting and doing quests
6)>Has holiday themes based on every holiday in America and Canada
7)>Great costumer support and Community
Cons:
1)>Not much to do(lunchbrake sized)
2)>Has unbalancing issue with some weapons and armours being to expensive or to low price.
3)>Z-tokens, and ability to buy them
4)>Guardian-ship( a pun :p) is expensive for some people, but it"s once a month, so it"s not that bad.
Exemple:World of Warcraft: 15$ a month
Runescape: 5$ a month
Final Fantasy XI: 13$ a month, +1$ per additional character
You know, there"s a way to get in a server without being a guardian, if you keep clicking the "refresh" on the page where it tells you to click it, keep clicking fast and you will get in no matter how many people are on-line

Comment: As a lot of people said this game is fun for a time. It looks like there is so many things to do at the beginning but after a while you'll notice that all of them are just fighting. Plus more than half of the things to do require you to be a guardian. To become a guardian it is a one time payment of $15 which is pretty cool. Oh and can anybody please stop saying that when your done attacking your legs slide across the ground because if you weren't blind you would see that he walks backwards.

Comment: Wish I had never paid for x-gaurdianship. The game at first looks like there is a fair amount to do, but in reality everything is just fighting 'monsters' over and over and over again. The various classes are a joke to go through. Leveling up can actually hurt you in playing this game as they level-scale the monsters you fight. Good thing in the battle monsters random thing, but pretty ignorant for quests. You can try a quest and find that the monsters are higher level and you can not beat them. If you go and level up to go back and beat the quest, guess what, they level scaled the monsters so that they are still higher level than you. Moronic. They also sell what they call z-tokens, which is an added type of currency for special items that you can't get with gold. You can get them in the game, but by the time I was level 82 I had accumulated about 3000 total. Not even enough to buy level 40 things in the z-token shop. Buting them is no different than buying a cheat code. (If you need cheat codes, or hacks or macros, for an rpg you are a feeble moron that shouldn't be allowed online.) There is no logical progression to this game.
Like someone else pointed out getting the gold for what they call "uber" items will take you quite some time. And what they call uber is a joke if you look at the stats. They think armour should give you more attacks as opposed to actually armoring you against attacks. Again moronic.
Some of the monsters actually do look pretty cool for 2D, but some look like a kindergartener brought them home for mommy to hang on the refridgerator.
There are some helpful people in the forums, but as usual there are the little idiots as well.
I quit playing runescape at total level 2043 because of the jerks that play it, (and the jerks that own it), and went looking for a single player rpg. Regret that I came across this one.

Comment: I use to love this game, but now its just incredibly old. You have to admit, the graphics have become much better over the years... But still arnt very good. After an attack you basically justslide across the ground... I find that you are basically just using the same moves over and over again tough, and does not take stratergy, mainly blind luck. Getting past lvl 80 can be a huge pain and nearly impossible. I cannot be bothered with this game anymore and have found muh better ones, I give this game a four.

The system is very repetetive and is just clicking attack a few times, then click battle monsters and attack a few more times. This continues lots. It is a lot more fun if you become a guardian or get to be a high level dragonslayer or something. The enemies are acctually whole lot more interesting.
The money is a bit hard to get and if you have set your eyes on a 250000 gold weapon, forget it unless you are a freak and play for 10 hours a day you will take forever to get to the level you need let alone get the gold.
There is a lot that needs to be done in the way of PvP as there is almost none and without it the game gets a bit dull, as there is only a certain amount you can do with your friends, and that is all talking about your weapons and levels.
Guardianship is possibly a bit expensive but is worth it if you plan to play for a reasonable length of time, as it gives you loads more weapons, skills and places for you to experiment with. It also means that you dont get held back by the stupid capped limit which always gets filled up by guardians so you get to play roughly once a year otherwise.
It could be worked on as it is slightly flat and about as 3d as the stickman i drew last wednesday.
Apart from all these points it is a fairly good game and well worth looking at, but it can take a while. Me and my friend were both level 50 guardians at one point, and decided to race to level 100. This was 3 months ago and neither of us have hit level 80 yet.

Comment: This is a good game great actually but I just want to say that all of you who say you can finish this whole game in an hour or two are liers. It would probably take at least two weeks as a guardian to get to lvl 99 in and 10 in every skill and in any mmporg or rpg there is no way you can beat a game in one day. Just make the game a (bit) more creative with the skills and attacks with a slight touch to the graphics and I'll give it a 10!

Comment: I wanted to try this game, so i did. I logged in, choose my name etc. and then i went to fight and some monster named prismix popped out. And i was like: ALT+F4. Here is my opinion about the game:
1.Terrible design
2.Terrible gameplay (how fun is it to click on 'attack button' over and over?
3.Guardian Status - I mean, everyone who actually pays for this game is like...freaking sad...

Comment: simple.
what you would expect from a turn-based RPG,only LESS. all there is to do is fight monsters(interesting note: 99% of the time you will encounter an enemy with "zard" in its name.)
The quests, are just monster fighting disguised as something else ex:climbing mountains to get a moglin tribe"s statue back, the mountains however, ARE FILLED WITH MONSTERS YOU MUST FIGHT!
then, it has wars such as the dragon war, drakel war and several others. the wars involve slaying the same monster type over and over again!
there is, however a great variety of equipment, such as the grass blade, magical turkey dip, and water balloon launcher. also, why the heck would an innkeeper keep an ancient weapon of mass destruction in his arsenal?
stat training:when you lv up, you do not get stat bonuses. to gain stats, you must train with a stat trainer and pay him GOLD to raise your stats.
also, i forgot to mention how this game lets you buy your way to winning.you can buy the xboost, which gives NUMERICAL bonuses for around 15 dollars. since this review is long winded, heres what also stinks:no pvp,server cap, community,and humor.

Comment: This game is more of an escape like someone said earlier. its not great, its not bad. if you r feelings are hurt because some high level guy in rs or wow called you a noob then play this game. it has very quick level up, but dont bother becoming a guardian or x-guardian, because you will play this game for 10 minutes and get bored quick because its the same thing over and over.

Comment: Adventure Quest is an amazing game.For Guardians and high level people. Adventure Quest is the most lamest game if you like quick action and cant pay attention to something for more then 5 minutes. Adventure Quest is way to in-depth about their fighting and not to much in-depth about anything else. I mean you have to buy a gift from finishing quests instead of just receiving it. This game has high potential. This game is also very easy to hack so if you hate being a low lv just hack it up. Although this game looks bad its a much more fun as you go along.This game is a 10 because I am lv 85 and an X-Guardian and enjoy this game.

Bad SFX
Strange battle movement
The quests just get stranger and stranger
No job advancements
Well all i can say is that this game is not really that great but if you like flash games then this is it. but if you don't like this game then don't worry there are plenty of other games to play than this one if you are not a flash game fan. so to me, i give this game a 4/10

Unique items
A simple battle system
No evil players attacking you
Cons: No movement (Bad)
Some of the graphics are outdated
Pretty bad sound effects
No music
Can take a while to log in
Not much F2P (Then again, most games are like that)
No PvP
You can't talk to ppl. (Good and bad)
This is more like an escape from MMORPGs that you don't understand. I can't say if it is worth your time and money. It's sort of an escape.

the weopens and armour ar ok and look quite different and there definatley enough
levelling- levelling is very boring after about level 10 and i find not very rewarding
this game is pretty good for about 10 minuits a day.
all in all i would say only get this game if you dont want to download an mmorpg and/or you are looking for a game you can spend a little while on for fun

Comment: At first glance, the game is pitiful. It is actually very fun and pretty addicting. It is easy to stop, so you wont be on it for 5 hours a day. It is a good game to play when you are wating for something or just bored. The game Dragonfable is made by the same people and it is considerably better. If you want to invest some money in a game, pay for Dragonfable not adventure quest, even though both are free, gameplay considerably improves after paying.

Comment: This game is somewhat entertaining for a while. Gaurdian membership is now 20 bucks. The main goal of the game is to get you to pay more as you go. To get the best weapons you will have to purchase Ztokens...for real cash. They are ridiculously overpiced. Leveling up takes forever at higher levels. You can level up a little faster if you buy an xguardian membership. Again, for more real cash. Great "Free game" if you have 100 to 200 bucks to blow. But they will get you hooked before you figure that out. Pretty clever.

You only have to pay 15$ once and you are a guardian for your whole life!!! I love this game!!! It would be better if you could talk to other people,be in player created clans, pvp with other players, and fight side by side with another player against a monster or other players. If you become a guardian you will love this game!!!

Comment: Adventure Quest is a work in progress I know but, some things do need twecking.
1. Yes, I agree with everyone about the server issue. It's just a way to force you to pay & limiting people stinks!
2. On top of the limit of non-paying players on their free server, if you do get on, you're limited on what you can do. Free players can only reach level 5 & many classes, such as knight & ninja, are forbidden.
3. The combat is slow & clumsy. Yes, it's turn based & I don't mind that but, this need updating.
4. The graphics are not as bad as say Runescape but, it's not WoW. Then again, it never claimed to be. I believe this part of the game will improve with time.
5. Remember please that this is a game best played in small bits.

Comment: Ok this is one of the worste online games ever. only about 14000 non members can get on at once which is stupid and its always full. and u only get 9 armor slots 9 weapon slots and 9 shield slots which isnt very good. u have nowere to store stuff u dont need at the time so you be buying the same armor or weapon over and overand it takes forever just to get 1000gold when it takes about 5000gold just to buy one weapon so dont play this game unless you have a problem.

Comment: It's a game that can actually be kind of fun at first but after a few days, it slows down. Elemental weapons, armors and spells add an interesting strategic element in battles but when you actually launch some sort of attack, the slow animation will have you reaching for your pillow. Also, unless you're a member, you'll get extremely frustrated when you have to wait for people to log off so you can go on. Being able to switch through jobs, learn all of their abilities, then by buying their armors, being able to switch through the jobs and their abilities in battles increases convenience at times but unless you're a member, you won't get a whole lot of the abilities and this upside might seem like a mixed bag. It's an OK game for a while but you won't be satisfied for long.

And if you went east and saw the clan thing i was hoping you could talk to other players. the clan thing is completely wasteful of space. it doesnt do anything all you get to do is say im in a clan.The one thing i will give them credit for is the wide variety of monsters and i liked the whole dragonmancer thing,that was pretty cool.

Comment: This would have to be my favorite online RPG game. For a few different reasons:
1. The game play is excellent! And I"ve been playing for a while, it maybe a little repetitive but it defiantly doesn"t get old with all the new features they bring.
2. The graphics! That"s right, for all you who said this game has bad graphics, I totally disagree. They aren"t bad, they are just made with Adobe Flash, which makes them look kind of like a cartoon, but I am of the opinion that they are well done.
3. Character wise, this game is great. You can choose a class and train for it. Your character in this game is very cool, unlike in RS IMO.
But one thing I must URGE you to do if you like this game, is to become a Guardian. It"s defiantly worth the one time payment. I"ll admit that one valid criticism of the game is that when you"re playing it for free, it totally sucks. But on the bright side, the fee is very inexpensive.
Also, check out DragonFable RPG, from having played it just a little, it seems really cool!

Comment: Adventure Quest turns out to be a pretty good game... if you can manage to log in. Otherwise, you're better off picking your nose. At least that accomplishes something.
Once you log in, though, you will find that Adventure Quest is jam-packed with content. It's not worth the $20 to be able to log in at anytime, though. Not by a long shot.

Comment: This game could be a lot better. It could definently use better sounds. I can make those sounds with my mouth. I never get to play because for some reason the server is always full.It will say all 10000 spots are full, then later all 9000 spots are full. Why decrease the server size? They need to make more than one server at least to let other players on. I can play it for a few mins but then it just gets old. You nearly always miss and its gets pretty lame watching your person hop around and then get killed. Also its a waste of time if you are not a guardian.(which i think is a waste of money XD) But aside from that its amusing for a while. try it if not play another game. good luck if you can log on to play though XD.

It's $15, for a 2d RPG that you play by yourself, and you don't even quest... You fight monsters and lose to them 25 levels below yourself. You become a f2p player, and play the game for like 5 plays. Then, all of a sudden, "This server is too full! it's got over 15,000 players on it, so you can't play this game without being a guardian! It's only $15! I mean, WOW! "
So i log out, and at the top it says, "there are currently 2,000 people playing!"
So i log in a second screen, then log into my lvl 30 account, and it says, "there are currently more than 15,000 people playing!" i look on the second screen, and it says there are a little over 2,000 people.... The game lies to you! they HAVE to have more guardians, and the price is ridiculous. YOu can never have another facial expression, and you can never see the back of your head.
I give this a 0, out of 10.

Comment: I thought the game was mildly amusing. Slightly childish, but fun in it s own way. The graphics are decent (asuming they were going for the anime-ish style. The battle system is repetitive yet sometimes fun, but I would like to see some higher levels of damage now that I m almost level 50. However, it annoys me to no end that it is so hard to get potions... you have to level up alot before you can survive anywhere. All in all, the only reason I m not giving this game a higher rating is because there is constant pressure to become a guardian (have a piad account) and if you don t, there might be room on the server for you in the middle of the night- maybe. It s always constantly busy. Very unfair to people who have better ways to spend their money than on a amusing but not excellent game.

Ur battles would go on 4ever if it weren t for that flee or cancel or watever button.It doesn t even make sense and supposedly r suppose to be helping the ppl on there rite?Wrong all ur doing is choosing a side and going to do a certain battle over and over.Magic also sux.U buy the skill then just select it and u send a ball of magic flying at ur opponent.If this were a community game i would ve gave it a 2!U also miss like crazy say ur opponent only has like wat 30 dex and u have a 30 dex or watever skill that allows u to b able to hit them u think ur going to hit rite?Wrong again this game has so many things it needs to work on.It also lags so badly.U play u think its runnig ok.Eventually it starts 2 lag and u say o i ll switch it to medium garphix.It s still lagging.O i think i ll go to low graphix.And it looks real bad.Also they have a ton of ads flying everywhere.

Comment: This game is just plain awful. I would truly prefer to play runescape and i despise that game beyond reason. First of all, the game is supposed to be something you play for a few minutes in your spare time. This isn t true. You can t play for a few minutes because the battles take all year. Also, look around, adventurequest puts ads EVERYWHERE, and they all try to make it look like something its not. "free RPG like World Warcraft" World Warcraft??? there is an OF in world of warcraft!!!! Plus, its nothing like world of warcraft because WoW has a special thing we all love... i cant remember what its called though... oh yeah thats right. a COMMUNITY. you know, one of those things where you can play online with OTHER PEOPLE. this isnt an MMORPG. this isnt even multiplayer. You cant get on and they pressure you to buy a premium account and guess what you get for it.

Comment: Honestly, there is no reason to play this game. This is more like some kind of worse version of a GBA RPG game without all the moving around and actual adventure. The name doesn t even suit it. All you do is click "Random Battle" or Fight Monster" (I forgot) and just click some options of attack. You don t even get to interact with other players in any way. I don t get why they would make it an online game fully aware of this fact. Even something like Neopets is better than this.

Comment: I would rather watch Titanic 10 times in a row than EVER going near a game like this again. Seriously. Barbie has more of an adventure than this game. Just as Nickelpat said. Point click point click. Thats all there is too it. I only with there where Minus ratings you could give, but even then I couldnt find a suitable numer, unless MinusInfinity where on there. Just Play Runescape or Endless or Blow your nose or say go shopping with girlfriend many things are better than this game. So if you like Myst stick to Myst if you d rather play this this then...do anything your crazy!
