Nexuiz is a 3d deathmatch game made entirely over the internet. The purpose of the game is to bring deathmatch back to the basics, with perfect weapon balancing and fast paced action, keeping itself away from the current trend of realistic shooters. It currently has 17 maps to frag in. With an advanced UI, the user can select between 15 different player models to use, with an average of two skins for each, and can connect to our master server to play people from all over the world.

Comment: This game - as you may well already know - is an attempt to revive the old school FPS genre. It takes the core gameplay from games like Quake/Unreal Tournament and puts it in a super good-looking, vastly improved box, using dynamic mutators to get rid of any monotonous, grindy gameplay which some people thought was present in Quake due to a lack of progression.

Comment: The gameplay is fairly narrow and simple, and it copies a lot of stuff from other popular FPS games. It doesn't offer much unique material but it fills it all out in fun department.

Comment: Bad made copy of Unreal Turnament. Bad graphics with even nice gameplay. 4/10 for me.

Comment: At its core, Nexuiz is built on a solid bedrock of old-school action. No reloading, no sprint buttons or cover - just frictionless movement, springy rocket-jumping and the relentless rise and fall of the kill/death ratio to worry about. And, for a while at least, it's a refreshing change of pace compared to the feature-creep of the modern shooter. It doesn't take long for the basic pleasures to run dry, however. The nine weapons on offer are a feeble selection, with little impact and sketchily explained benefits. Each has two fire modes, but few feel essential. You respawn every time with a beefy shotgun, and with gameplay that never evolves, that proves ample for most encounters. This is a game where you can hit someone square in the face with a mortar and have them skitter away, only to finish you off with one hit from the default weapon.

Comment: Plays a lot like Quake and Unreal Tournament games, it's vary good quality for a free game but lacks players. Still plenty to have good matches but it just feels empty.

Comment: I'd stay away from this game. It's not that this game is a bad game persay, but it gets boring fairly quick it has an unfinished feeling to it...
