Comment: To sum Torchlight up you could say it's a modernized Diablo. The game plays and feel(other than the dark setting)like Diablo 1&2. The game waste no time getting to it's core, you jump into a dungeon just minutes after the start of the game and collect loot. There is one main dungeon that has tons of floors and a few unique ones that you get to via teleport's for certain quest. While you will spend a lot of time in the main dungeon it doesn't get that repetitive thanks to the setting changing every 5 levels or so.

Torchlight features cartoon style graphics but don't let that fool you this game has a unique look and is defiantly not made this way to appeal to kids better. Spell effects are awesome and a joy to look at every time they are casted.

The UI is great and vary well thought out, possibly one of the cleanest and polished UI's seen in any game to date, they thought of everything you might do and made it all quicker and easier.

Quite possibly this games biggest achievement is a Dog/Cat... now I know what your thinking how can a Dog or Cat be the best part of the game? Well it's not just the best part of the game but quite possibly the best thing to happen to the genre in a long time. Basically the Dog/Cat works like any other pet where it can carry stuff, fight for you etc... but the thing that makes them special is a button. This button makes your pet go to town and sell everything in it's inventory while you continue through the dungeon coming back a couple minutes later with a nice sum of cash. The trade off is you lose your pet for a while but the feature is great non the less.

The game isn't really long but you could easily lose hours upon hours trying to find better loot and when the game is over it doesn't have to be. Runic released mod tools along with the game for the community to do what they wish to the game greatly extending the life of the game and possibly adding game changing features like maybe a multiplayer mode... anything could happen with a good modding community.

The one thing that hurts this game the most is the lack of a multiplayer mode. I'm sure Runic would of loved to have this in the game but Torchlight was made in a short amount of time and to be the base of an up in coming MMO. It's possible the modding community might put something together but for the price($20 USD)and how good the single player experience is you can't really complain.

To sum it up, Torchlight is an amazing game that was made by a skilled group of Devs in a short amount of time but is extremely polished and a joy to play. The visuals are nice and unique, the UI is the one best in the industry and the game features a revolutionary feature that could prove to be a game changer in genre. It's lack of multiplayer hurts it but the release of mod tools could make up for this if the community gets behind the game. For the price you just can't beat it!

Comment: How long did it take you to figure that out uncleslam lulz?

Torchlight is amazing. I was surprised by the graphics cuz i didn't think it would be that good despite the screenshot above. walking over bridges and close to edges can be awesome.

The hack n slash combat never gets old. The quests are good for the most part too.

Comment: Torchlight is really awesome game, indeed. If you like hack'n'slash, this is a must have. Graphic is 10/10 and it's pretty fun. Too bad that levels are getting long later in the game so I got bored. Otherwise, development team have made this game very beautiful and items you get are badass as they can get. It's worth the price but one thins...why is it announced on "weekly online game" when it's single player only? Naabs.

Comment: Torchlight looks better than Diablo 1 and 2 combined. I just hope it doesnt disappoint like Dungeon Siege did.
