boring game
dont dare complain about runescape's graphics, it has the best graphics for a BROWSER game that ive seen so far, especially after that graphics update, the other 3d games that have better graphics either have WAY smaller areas, or are downloads

anyway, runescape is really just a game for members imo, cos its a really boring game for free players, theres only lik 10 quests for free players, and members get lik 100 long quests! for free players, its just do the same thing over and over again, trying to train their skills up, and theres another thing only for members, about half of the skills are only for members! after all this, who cares about the graphics? its just a bad game cos u hav to be a member to hav fun! after uve done all the free quests, then u might as well quit runescape or become a member, cos theres nothing left for u, unless u lik grinding in games, its not even a fun grind either, lik maplestory, its a bad grind, just TOO boring

I have played for 4 years, and I"d like to quote something someone said a little ways down... "I ve seen other rpgs that are 3d with better graphics than Runescape", there"s a reason you"ve seen 3d games with better graphics than runescape, want to know that reason? It"s because runescape is TWO DIMENSIONAL.

As for those who were looking for cheats for runescape, there are none, there are strategies for making money, but not cheats, it"s an mmorpg people, do you really think they"d install cheats? come on!

A good way now-a-days to make money is getting your mining to level 30, and mining pure essence, it sells for about 150-160 gp each, which is around 4000 gp per inventory

Another way is to get your woodcutting to level 60 and chopping yews, they give about 10,000 per full inventory

Fishing and cooking is a really good way to make money when you get high enough to fish and cook sharks (It"s 72 fishing i believe to fish them, not sure what the cooking is, I don"t feel like pulling up runescape right now...)

For those who "claim" they"ve been hacked, do you want to know how you get hacked? It"s not from someone just randomly going "oh! I think I"m going to jump on my computer and hack this person that I don"t even know!" It"s from morons that go onto cheat sites for runescape, and do stupid things like sending their password and player name to someone in an email so they can get "100 party hats of whatever color you want" and someone taking your things (which I believe has been quite well fixed since you can"t trade more than 3000 gp worth of items unless you have a lot of quest points) another way is when someone tells you "I know how to get your stats to 90, but i"m not going to tell you, just give me your password and I"ll get on and do it for you" or how about, the people that are related to moderators that have lots of items that their moderator friends get them for free, and will be nice enough to give stuff to you, all you have to do is give your account name and password, oh, and always be sure that it is at least above level 50, no sense in giving free party hats to a level 5, let me see here, the first thing I see wrong with this is um, why would you need the password? If it"s a moderator, they already know your password, DUH!, second, a moderator, would be fired for doing something like that, they"re not allowed to. I think you all have gotten enough off of this little... speach, good day, and have fun. Oh, by the way, if you don"t believe I"ve been playing for 4 years, add me, my name is mr.death23, i"ll show you my yoyo...

you guys almost all hate runescape but if u dont other people might like it alot i got bored of it after about 6 months i did not play it alot but after i did all quests it got boring so if u realy like this game i say u should try p2p for 1 month if u could do it for a week i would say do that but i cant

Runescape Improved
Runescape has been improved a little bit but the biggest improvement will be tommorow.

The graphics are going to get a massive upgrade which may bring more players towards the game, all my friends say that they don't play runescape because of the graphics.

Runescape Stuffed
Runescape has been recked by getting rid of PKing, stuffing up the Duel Arena and bringing in the Grand Exchange.

1. PKing - Everybody likes to PK to get a extra bit of money and it's also fun!

2. Duel Arena - Duel Arena was once the most money making and funnest places on runescape but after being only aloud to bid 3k max it's driven people away.

3. Grand Exchange - The Grand Exchange has stuffed up the prices and it brought the 3k limit trade rule. If you wanted to give you friend a bit of help you'd give them some cash but not you can't!

personally the game is ok

Personally I love runescape. Yes I have tried other games like WOW, but they seemed to me that they were all based on fighting... Runescape is not really based on fighting. Sure you can fight monsters, and other players, but the fighting graphics are really bad.. Just 2 players swinging a sword back and forth at each other isn't very exciting. That would probably be the only thing that i don't like about runescape.

The best thing to come this year will probably be the graphics update that jagex plans on making in the next couple months. From the pictures jagex has put on the Runescape website I can say that they will boost runescape up the MMORPG ladder quite a few steps.

I know i'm kinda bringing up old subjects, but to get to level 100 all you really need to do is train a few of your combat skills, and make sure you include defense and prayer. Although, did you know that your combat level may not be an accurate reflection of your levels? I'm level 109(105 f2p), but that's mainly because I train all of the skills that affect your combat level. Someone can have 99 attack, 99 strength, and say 20 defense and 1 prayer, and they'll be like level 60. And, you just don't gain combat levels that quickly. You can easily gain separate levels, and sometimes it is good that you don't gain a combat level for every other level you gain. Also, don't you mean you want to be heading for level 126? 100 isn't the highest level in the game, because unlike in other games, the combat level isn't what affects your power, it's your separate skill levels.

As for the Bad Updates comment, you have to realize that they did these things because they were trying to obliterate real world traders. I miss staking as well, and I too am outraged at the obliteration of good PvP, but there are STILL OTHER THINGS TO DO! They're trying to work on new PvP things that will keep real world traders from resuming again. Why are these guys so important? Most people say that Jagex gets money from them, but they're wrong. As quoted from the "Jagex Vs. Real World Trading" development diary on the site,

" The majority of bots that we ban from members have been paid for with stolen credit card numbers.

Such accounts don't earn us money, they cost us money in bank refund charges - money that could be better spent on creating new content for our players; money that could help us increase the level of support our players receive. Also, in the longer-term, if we had continued to experience these problems with account fraud, then it could have led to us no longer being able to accept credit card payments from legitimate players."

The RWTers were a huge problem, since a ton of paying members pay with credit cards. I know that this doesn't really help anyone's anger, but it just shows the reason behind the annoying updates, and not that "Jagex is just stupid and likes losing players" or something like that. Just don't forget, most MMO's aren't only about PvP.

Bad Updates
Runescape is not becoming better it is becoming a lot worse. the new "updates" are making the game worse and worse hence the mass quiting. the latest updates include price zones so that you cant merchant anymore. there is no wilderness and effectively there is no longer any pking.the duel arena now has staking limits which means that you cant stake more than 3k!!! which is terrible considering some people spend months making the perfect staking charactors but can now only make 12k an hour!!! thats rediculous. the game is becoming alot worse and i hope that jagex sees there mistakes and fixes them because the game is simply not worth playing any more.

6/10 - AND DECREASING

Jokermannice you have no idea what crap you're talking about. Obviously you didn't get the game in your head the right way. When you fight, you dont just sit back, you have make sure you eat food so you don't die, you have make sure you pick up stuff around the fight if want, and you when you fight there's always an occasion when you would do a special attack, change weapons, or move someplace else. Got it?

There are storylines
RuneScape has a storyline. Actually, several storylines based on quest series. They're very compelling and excellently designed (Jagex has some of the best quest writers in the industry). All of the storylines are member's only, so that's why you'll hear people say that RuneScape has no storyline.

Many people complain why Jagex doesn't deal with botters and such... Well There's been a massive update, and because of a bunch of selfish oldies, There's been a mass quitting. Now is the best time to join, You can get a good catchup while replacing everyone who is leaving. If you ever thought about playing this game, NOW IS THE TIME TO JOIN
It is not the worst game.. Notice how all the people who say it is, have been hooked for around 4 years. With time grows resentment, if you want a game to get hooked to, NOW IS THE TIME TO JOIN

Even though the graphics in RuneScape aren't as good good as most of the other mmorpg games they still outline good shapes and good movement in the game and I don't get whats so bad about them, atleast you can see everything and tell what it is, and if you can atleast see that, there's nothing wrong with the graphics. And as NeoLlamster said, it a browser game, so to those people who say its the game's fault it has bad graphics, they're wrong

RuneScape is a good game
I'm really enjoying RuneScape because you don't have to choose to be a mage, or choose to be a range, you have an account where you can be anything that you want to be wether it's one thing, everything, or a hole bunch of different things. Also, the tutorial island is really helpful because it tells what you need to know about all your main stats, quests, friends that you make,etc. Another thing is that you can have about half the game with a free account by doing only a simple,1-3 minute proccess to create it. Also, the quests are challenging and make sense and after each quest, you get a reasonable award. In quests, you can do things from collecting things to answering hard questions. Lastly, it's mostly a fun and peaceful time to explore all over in this game and to master stats and levels.

les jus face it, it has horrible graphics, the sound FX are sooo out of place, and the bgm is so random. oh yea for rune luvers who say blame java its also jagex fault for hirering them. the sounds.....(UGH).. there not gay, they jus dont match with the background. the combat system is horrible, jus click on enemy, sit back, watch the crap, and see who dies. no party system, making big bosses harder to kill as u have to do it al by urself. no exclusive combat skills(besides prayer) which makes the game even more borring. the buddy system is crap, no place were they tell u were the hell ur friends are.

the only good thing about this is tht its browser based so u dun have to download anythin, but ovrall, this game sux

RuneScape doesn't have bad graphics because it is programmed in Java; it has bad graphics because it is a browser game.

Java can create good graphics. Take a look at Wurm Online.

Personally, I rated it a 10 not because it deserves it (it deserves about 6), but because its current rating is much too low. Also, I fail to comprehend how my opinion of Runescape is in any way related to my eyesight.

Runescape Hacks
Runescape hacks are one of the most searched for Runescape related topics. It seems that so many Runescape players are looking for the short cut to Runescape money and feel that getting their hands on some Runescape hacks is the best way to go about making their millions. So why is this the case? I can��t help but feel that with a game like Runescape where essentially those who can invest the most time excel makes it difficult for those that do not have the time to invest into the game yet want to still enjoy the game as a high level and wealthy player. This of course would lead many to start looking for shortcuts like Runescape hacks. Unfortunately more often thank not many of these players in search of Runescape hack downloads end up being hacked themselves.

Better than most
Well, I admit that runescape isn't the greatest game in terms of graphics, and ping is quite frustrating.

However rather than people giving solid reviews, many users here are using pathetic proof to justify their arguments
Some of the silly things people write:
1) After a few years it gets boring.
well of course it will get boring after years of game play. You cannot find a game that will keep you occupied forever.
2) people call you noob
hey, if you want to throw a cry every time calls you a noob, then do so.
3)WoW is better.
DON'T GET ME STARTED. For the sake of knowing what I'm talking about. I actually played WoW, and half of the people here saying its better than runescape haven't even touched it. WoW was very dry and very repetitive, and if jagex charged as much as blizzard, then i think runescape would be the king of MMORPGS.
4)After a few hours I quit:
Then you shouldn't even be posting here. This is for people who had thorough experiences of the game and know iy.

Overall, There are many games out there and heck I've played a lot (Conquer, Maplestory, WoW, silkroad, Anarchy online, Dungeon runners, rappelz, rubies of eventide, Eudemons) Yet I've never played a game as addicting as this one. No game has had me hooked the minute I began playing and kept me on for years except runescape.

Oh and besides, Just because you think the game stinks and other games seem better to you. Remember it's how much people play, not how good the game is.

fun game
runescape is a mmorpg , it is massivly known around the world it has a f2p system and a p2p system thats only 5 $ a month.. i would aculy say this is the only game u can stick to for a long period of time. it has loads of skills, wepons, armours, quests, monsters, places,
minigames, etc. lots to chose from plenty of players and freinds to make, despite the graphics they dont matter if it a fun game or not..ive been playing for almost 3 years now.. lvl 107. they always have updates every week but mostly only for the p2p. fun game it will keep u buisey, downside graphics and fighting system.. upside wat i have listed and more.
