S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a long awaited 3D first person shooter (FPS) that incorporates RPG elements in a post-nuclear setting. The game's RPG elements and physics have had gamers drooling for many years after first being announced way back in 2001. Fortunately, this game did not pull a Duke Nuke Forever and remain forever in development since the game has finally been launched. There have been numerous bugs found in the game even after being in development for so long but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. easily stand out as a different type of FPS. Instead of just shooting stuff along a set path and storyline, the game gives players the freedom to play the way they want. This freedom translates into tremendous replay value since you can explore the world at your own pace, do side quests, and even experience different endings. In addition to the game play freedom, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. also handles weapons better than most other shooters. Do not expect to pick up a pistol at the beginning of the game and be able to kill everything because the gun will not be very accurate. Like an RPG where you start out with a terrible sword, you will find better weapons and ammo as the game progresses. The weapons and bullets also have realistic physics models. All in all, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the best FPS available today for players looking for something new.

Comment: Although it can be very buggy, this game is fun as hell and beats the countless Quake and Doom clones. There is a huge game world to explore instead of being led down one path. Fix the bugs and this game is a classic.

Comment: This game is being delayed every day. The developers don't dare to give a date anymore. Still, I think it will have great game play in both single player and multiplayer modes. I am hoping it has great stealthy multiplayer options, great maps, and great choices for weapons and upgrades. In addition, money would be a good way of choosing the right weapons online.
