What Teams Are the Favorites at the Dota 2 The International 2022: Last Chance Qualifier?

Dota 2 teams have one last chance to qualify for The International at the Last Chance Qualifier. This event will occur from the 8th of October to the 12th in Singapore. 12 world-class squads will be giving their all in hopes of earning qualification. Only the top 2 teams will make it, and you can stream and can follow all matches at gg.bet/en/dota2. In this article, we are going to look at the top 5 teams who have the best chance at qualifying!

1. Team Secret

Team Secret is one of the most successful teams in the history of Dota 2. The European team has almost $16,000,000 in career earnings. They have a lot of big Dota 2 tournament experience, including a 3rd place finish at The International 2021 which earned the squad $3.6 million.

Team Secret hasn’t had the strongest 2022 season by their standards, but they showed the world they are one of the best teams on the planet after coming 3rd at the Riyadh Masters 2022, which netted them $425,000. Team Secret has a great group draw, their only threat is Natus Vincere, but they should have issues coming at the top of the group.

Led by Dota 2 Legend Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, Team Secret are strong favorites to earn one of the two qualifying spots up for grabs. It won’t be easy, especially if they need to defeat the likes of Team Liquid and Virtus.pro, but we believe they can do it!

2. Team Liquid

Team Liquid has been one of the top Dota 2 teams in the world since the pro squad was formed back in 2012. They have over $20 million in career winnings and even won The International 2017 for almost $11 million. They also took second at The International 2019. It would be a minor shock if the legendary European team weren’t at the World Championships.

Team Liquid has not had a good 2022 season and has struggled in major tournaments, including the PGL Arlington Major 2022 and Riyadh Masters 2022. However, we expect them to peak at the right time and prove the haters wrong. They won’t have it easy as they have Virtus.pro and T1 in their group, but we expect their experience will help them defeat these teams.

3. Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro is an experienced Dota 2 team originally from Russia who has been crushing tournaments since 2012. They have over $11 million in career Dota 2 earnings and some impressive results. Virtus.pro came 5th at The International 2021 and The International 2017. The Russian squad has won a number of S-Tier events, including The Bucharest Major, ESL One Katowice 2018, and ESL One Birmingham 2018.

We expect Virtus.pro to come 2nd in their group and make a deep run in the playoffs. However, we are confident that Team Secret and Team Liquid have a strong edge over the Russian team. We are excited to see them battle against T1 and Natus Vincere.

4. Natus Vincere

You can never count out Natus Vincere! Natus Vincere is one of the most famous Dota 2 teams in the world, with over $5 million in lifetime winnings. The Ukrainian team won The International way back in 2011 and is known for its incredible fundamentals and smooth gameplay.

Natus Vincere is a regular at The International and placed second in 2012 and 2013. In recent years they have struggled a bit as other pro teams have caught up and have struggled to adapt to the new meta. However, they are still a world-class team, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they made the top 2 and qualified for The International 2022.

5. T1

T1 only set up their Dota 2 team in 2019 and is an up-and-coming team from South Korea. They don’t have the pedigree and experience of the teams mentioned above, but their creative and aggressive gameplay style is a threat to any team.

They currently have over $1 million in earnings and even managed to come 7th at The International 2021. We expect T1 to continue to improve, but they don’t quite have the skill to beat the likes of Team Secret and Team Liquid. They should go far in the playoffs, and if you want to bet on an underdog, then T1 is the perfect team!

Final Thoughts

This year’s Dota 2 The International 2022: Last Chance Qualifier will be an incredible tournament as every team is going to fight their hardest to win a ticket to The International. Team Secret and Team Liquid are the most likely teams to qualify for The International 2022. They both have strong squads, are in good form, and have big match experience. However, don’t count out Virtus.Pro, Natus Vincere, and even T1! Make sure you head to https://gg.bet/en/esports on the 8th of October to watch all the matches!
