The year 2023 is going to be a very promising year for the gaming industry thanks to a lot of long-awaited releases including sequels and premieres. While some games have yet to be announced, there’s already a strong line-up of confirmed games for this year. These include Diablo 4, Redfall, Assassin’s Creed Mirage and more. In this article we will tell you about the most interesting, in our opinion, novelties of 2023.

Like a Dragon: Ishin

Like a Dragon: Ishin, which originally released in Japan in February 2014, is finally releasing worldwide in February 2023. The popularity of the Like a Dragon franchise has grown worldwide since the release of the original version, and this remake is highly anticipated. Unlike the other games in the franchise, this one takes place in the late Edo period (1853-1867), and players take on the role of Sakamoto Ryoma as he tries to solve the murder of his mentor, navigate the streets of Kyoto and join the Shinsengumi during the takeover of Tosa. The game will be available on February 21, 2023 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Diablo 4

Diablo 4 is an hack-and-slash RPG centred around a resurrected Lilith, who becomes increasingly powerful as the powers of angels and demons have been weakened. Players can choose to play one of five classes: Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Rogue and Necromancer. The game has several changes and new features that will be announced in the coming months. Diablo 4 is scheduled to release on June 6, 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Redfall

Redfall is rumored to be a supernatural co-op shooter with Left 4 Dead and Borderlands-style gameplay, set in the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts. Players will take on the role of one of four characters: cryptozoologist Devinder Crowley, telekinetic student Leila Ellison, combat engineer Remy de la Rosa and supernatural sniper Jacob Boyer, battling vampires and the occult. There’s not much information about the game’s story yet, but what we’ve been able to see in the gameplay speaks about the game’s potential. The game’s release date is currently unconfirmed, but it’s rumored to be released in May 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.

Starfield

Starfield is a new sci-fi RPG from Bethesda and will be the studio’s first new project in many years. Set in a new universe known as the Populated Systems, players will explore the galaxy in search of answers to life’s biggest mysteries. It all takes place some 20 years after the War of the Colonies, a conflict between the United Colonies and the Fristar Collective, and the game is relatively peaceful. Bethesda has revealed some details about the game’s character creation, world, art, planets and gameplay, causing a stir among fans. More information is expected soon, with the game set for release in the first half of 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and it will differ from recent open-world RPGs. Instead, it will be an adventure game that focuses on stealth, parkour and assassination. Players will take on the role of young Basim, a man plagued by strange visions and nightmares, and he will join the Hidden in search of answers. The game will offer a new direction for the series, and it’s a welcome change for some fans who have grown tired of the role-playing approach. The game will be released in the second half of 2023 for Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
