World of Tanks Redemption Tournament

    One week left to sign up. 5 of 8, need 3 more. :)

    Also gonna put forward as an alternative. Going with 5 is not going to work in the current setup, too many bye weeks etc. So if we don't get anymore players I propose we switch to this style of Tournament:

    Round 1

    Fox
    Ufbre - Polan
    Narubian - Hawk

    Each round names move clockwise one position, like so:

    Round 2

    Ufbre
    Narubian - Fox
    Hawk - Polan

    Ufbre is the extra person in this case and would get a bye week.

    Matches would be best of 3 with all the same rules as the current Tournament. You are eliminated when you lose 3 rounds, note rounds not matches.

    This alternative seems to be a league with elimination, where everyone would get to play everyone else. I do think it could work but it should also be worked on slightly more.
    For example, what happens if after round 3, 2 players get eliminated, they're both out at the same round, but which one of them takes 4th place and which one takes 5th?

    Second issue is, assuming one name gets eliminated and 4 remain, if we continue with clockwise system, person 1 will always alternate between playing against person 2 or 3, it will never meet person 4. Would we still keep the system once the number of players is 4, or would we just switch to cup style elimination at that point?

    We can do league with points where we pick one and then that one person plays with other 4 in interval of 3 days then we pick other person and he also plays with other 4 in the same interval and so on.
    Each battle can be either one or two games (no need for 3 games cause you will meet one person more than once).
    Points would be:
    Win = 2
    Draw = 1
    Lose = 0

    At the end we will sum up the points and see who is on which place. That way we will ALL stay active during the tournament and no one will drop out at early stage thus encouraging him to participate in the next one as well.

    I know there are some flaws in this idea but i think with few fixes it would be cool :)

    Tie for 4th, just like the tie that happens in the current format.

    I'm confused as to why that is an issue? It's working as intended, if it did come to 4 I don't think it's even possible... or at least very unlikely for it to stay at 4 for more than 2 rounds, players wouldn't meet the 4th player anyways.

    In current format, tie happens for 3rd, so 3rd and 4th get the same prizes, but if 4th and 5th have a tie, and only one can get a prize, there's an issue that needs to be looked in

    As for the 2nd issue, I'm pretty sure you have a point, I didn't do the math myself but yeah it's highly unlikely this situation occurs, so it's not like it's a big issue, just a minor one and probably something that won't happen anyway :)

    Hawx we need more players, not less
    Narubian, in my opinion, your idea is ok, but yeah there is a flaw in it. Lets say the first person we pick loses all 4 of his battles in his interval. How much do you think that person would be motivated to play after that? xD

    We have to keep it open to everyone, I like the idea but it's going to be too many matches for people who don't have a lot of time. The elimination tournament is where we want to stay but we don't have enough people, making it more work to participate won't help that.

    The idea is not too overhaul the whole Tournament yet, just a stopgap that stays similar to the first Tournament but fits less players better. I don't want half the players sitting out the first round because of bye weeks :)

    3rd & 4th is a tie for 3rd. I wrote it that way to make it clear two players get the prize. With only 5 players we'd probably just do prizes for 1st and 2nd, then maybe something like 250 - 500 - 750 Forum Points (Scaling with the Event Points) to the other 3 for participating.

    This applies to the Elimination Tournament format as well.

    If we do not find a few more players
    I propose that the tournament is postponed until further notice
    (until we find the players)
    because I think it is ridiculous to play a tournament with 4 or 5 players.
    minimum of 8 players.
