Yes, yes really. I have about 800 games in the StuG III, a 100 on hetzer and 300 on Marder II, along with some more games on the french TD's, I have been killed by being detracked like that exactly 0 times.
I do agree that turret is a nice thing to have when you're in ambush, but that is really the only advantage turreted td's have, they don't have to break their camo when in ambush. When surprised from behind, they're just as dead as non turreted td's, pretty much due to the fact their turret traverse is extremely slow.

 

to be honest, to me it appears like it's great for much more than that reason. Perhaps I will even buy it when it's on some discount

 

And sometimes, there's no chance at all to make it over 2 things, no matter what you do, your exact chance to pass over them is exactly 0. That's why I don't like this game, it's simply too much luck based, no matter how good you are, it will end when your bad luck kicks in

 

Well the first passage of pure's post is why I was for 4 nations in the first place, before Aaddron pointed out that we don't have the manpower for that right now xD

So I'm going to have to completely agree with the second passage, though that will mean that either Ironheads or Gold beasts will be going down, and if that's the case, new steelskulls should probably get the bonuses the nation it took over has, cause if I remember correctly, steelskull bonuses and stomper bonuses are nearly identical
