Do you guys think it will live up to the hype?

Bethesda made TES3 and 4 and is the company that is making Fallout 3. Knowing that I think this game will be an amazing RPG. TES3 and 4 can be considered two of the top RPGs ever made and Fallout 3 is being made with the same base of those games. Meaning its a huge world were your free to go and do whatever you want.

    My vote is it will.

I think there's exactly no possibly way that Fallout 3 will fail. This game is so awesome and from what I've seen, with the ability to play it like an RPG or like an FPS, that should totaly equal WIN! Of course, only time will tell...

Wish it at least had an online component so GameOgre could cover it besides this forum.

Yeah but that's not Bethesda style.

True, it gives them the chance to focus on what they do best.

It would be nice to see an MMO made by Bethesda.

I have heard the game is great but there is more complaining about DRM and craches on the PC version. I guess the consoles wouldn't have the crashing problem.

Well I have the game, but I also picked up Stalker Clear Sky, the two most RPG style FPS's out today. My gamer's ethics won't allow me to start playing Fallout until I've finished Stalker! As far as I can tell just by the box, Fallout's going to be every bit as darkly hilarious as its predecessors! Even the manual is great!

My brother tells me Fallout 3 is to Fallout 2 like Oblivion is to Morrowind. A bad version of the original game.

What makes Fallout bad compred to the old Fallout games? The change in graphics or the gameplay?

Wait that's not true Fallout 3 isn't a version of Fallout 2 and Oblivion isn't a version of Morrowind.

Heh, that would be useful, however, I have finished Stalker! It had somewhat of a disappointing finish. Although, to describe Fallout 3, I am going to use Stalker.

They both are set in post apocalyptic worlds, and both attempt dark humor (I think Fallout's more consistent with the humor). Both are a blend of FPS and RPG, however, it is the dominance of genre that sets the two apart. Stalker is a glorious FPS with several elements of RPG, like an inventory, stat modifying gear, and NPC Dialog/Relationships. While Fallout is an excellent RPG with elements of an FPS, like WASD, ammo, aiming, aural and visual detection, and cover. I think some of the newer gamers might not appreciate this so much, but the Fallouters that played the isometric turnbased game, should love this. The old skill system is fully in tact, along with VATS (Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System), which is just fun to watch! Plus, VATS reminds me of of the old system as it has Action Points just like FO 1 and 2. I haven't played much more than the first couple of missions, but I love this game already!

I'll let you know more later!

I've finished the game and I plan on writing a review, so give me some time and I'll post it here.

As to the question of hype, it lived up to my expectations, in most every way, but I can see how it may not live up to others'. None the less, awesome game!

Another great review, Fight:). Sorry about the timeout the first time. Did you have Remember me checked? I think its like the arcade on that.

If you ever want to add to the review, just let me know and it will be done.

I will see on the pic, if you have a better one to use, let me know.
