Video Contest For Ultimate Game Card

GameOgre.com is hosting a new contest for forum members. Since we recently installed a video directory, we are looking for forum members to make it one the best MMO vid directories on the net.

Prizes:

First Place: $10 Ultimate Game Card and Forum Medal
Second Place: 2000 GameOgre Forum Points
Third Place: 1000 GameOgre Forum Points

Rules:

1. This contest will last until November 1, 2009.
2. You must be a GameOgre forum member to enter.
3. The videos must be uploaded at GameOgre.com Free MMORPG Forums - Videos
4. The videos must be game-related.
5. Videos that are removed due to content reasons (ie copyright issues, obscene content, videos from other general MMO Sites) will not count.
6. Anybody who uploads an eligible video in the directory is automatically entered in the contest. It is that simple.
7. The winners are determined by having the most points at the end of the contest.

Points:

Game Video Upload = 1 point
Self-Made Video Uploaded = 5 points
Video Uploader of the Week = 25 points
Video of the Week = 25 points

Self-Made Videos:

To get the 5 points, self-made videos must be announced in the thread and mention GameOgre.com in the video. To be self-made, a video must be made 100% by you. Post the link of the video in the directory in this thread in order to claim self-made videos.

Uploader of the Week:

This will be judged on various things such as the quality of videos, putting videos in the correct categories, starting threads when uploading videos (just check the box), and the amounts of comments for the videos.

Self-made videos have to be approved me. To make sure the videos were self-made, GameOgre.com must mentioned in the video. Thought about only putting it in the description, but that would just prove the person uploaded it.

Points have also been changed. Each self-made video will be 5 points while uploader of the week gets 10 points.

 

There is no need to pull out. The videos you submitted already will help you a lot in the running for Uploader of the Week. Besides, the contest is a month long and it is easy to submit videos. You do not have to make videos. It just helps if you do.

This one-time point change was because I made self-made videos too high at first and there needs to be a system in place to make sure that the videos were really made by the forum members. This is to make it fair to forum members who don't make videos.

 

Just upload MMO videos from Youtube. Official trailers and tutorials are usually good choices.

 

NP. We may have a contest for video making later on, but this is mainly to help fill up the new video directory.

One other thing is not to post videos from other general MMO sites. It looks like only two had to be deleted because of this. To avoid further confusion, that will be put in the rules immediately.
