Nah. It's cheaper to just mod your own computer. I know AlienWare is tight though.

I agree, most the time with AlienWare or anything like it your paying for the brand name, that said most AlienWare PC's has some neat features and look pretty cool.

Well, I have been having serious problems with mine so far. I get the blue screen of death every 20 to 30 minutes and support has not been a great help yet. They can't figure out what the problem is.

Worst comes to worst, you could reinstall Windows 7 using the recovery disks... it came with recovery disks right?... that would tell you if it's the software or the hardware.

I already did the recovery so it is looking like the memory or the hard drive.

Yes, there is still a problem with it. Come to find out, after about 8 hours on the phone with support, I have two bad hard drives. We went to reinstall Window 7 on each drive separately and each one blue screened.

Well at least it's something easy to replace. Sucks that you got two bad HDD though.

I agree with eXo, modding is cheaper.

Well, they replaced the hard drives, but it is still having problems. I don't think they really know what the problem is. I don't either. Out of all the PCs I have owned, none have acted like this.

Well, they are pretty overpriced, but god damn they look good, their laptops + LAN = WIN.

I'd suggest if you have a spare CD burn a Linux Distro on it and run it as a live CD to see if it's actually the hardware or just something in Windows or the drivers.

Alienware is a rip-off, and so is any other gaming pc that you buy from a retailer. If you want a pc with specs matching Alienware and the like, building it yourself is MUCH cheaper, and educational lol

I am getting quite an education thanks to all of the support:). You are right though, this is my last one.

It looks like drivers were the problem. Instead of having a CD that loads all the drivers you need, you have to guess. I finally got the blue screens under control (somewhat) by installing all the needed drivers, but now my sound and screen colors keep changing lol.

You could try Drivermax to really check whether you've gotten all the latest drivers.
