I am better, as a mod, I can create a bag with tons of goodies that never run out.

And I can simply whisper the word "burn" or "level up" to someone.

Well, there's Rubies of Eventide, which is apparently a "graphical MUD". Reading this, I assumed there would be different types of MUD from the norm!

and I think the MUD would be better if it's "cast enormousfirebolt quinn" :D, cos, you know, don't like taking damage. Just joking.

In my opinion, a graphical MUD isn't a MUD, but w/e.

Then it would say enormousfirebolt isn't a spell.
Type help spells for more info.

Yup, and if it was a spell, I would use my mod powers to remove it.
    And create the spell "ModKill!"

Gah! I've got to work on this more, I'm trying to figure out how to get a area that you only see the first time you play, so I can make a tutorial area, although it may be unnecessary.

I got out my computer to work on it, and realized the charger is gone.

    Delayed another two weeks...

    :)

Anyways, I might run a MUSH until I get this running, if anyone was interested. I know some cool objects I can put in it, and I could give users a small quota to code their own objects.

I'll look up how large a MUSH gets, if it's too big, I don't know if i'd be able to host it.
Also, I might switch codebases from CoffeeMUD to something else, like TinyMUD.

I LOVE MUSHs, I could make puzzles and all sorts of fun stuff (uno games, battleship, practicly anything.)
And I am much more familiar with MUSHes, and could get it running in 5 minutes flat.

I ran one for friends and family once, we all had fun with it...

EDIT: Just to be clear, the MUD will still be worked on, this is for the meantime. If anyone has a computer that is on for the majority of the daytime, PM me if you are wiling to host.

I will run a few tutorials, and I want both the MUD and the MUSH to be very very newbie friendly, so we can get new people into text based games.

Haha! Found it, it's a MUSH expansion thingie that I was searching for:

Yup, that's why I like MUSHes too, it's way easy to do art, there are even some editors out there that let you draw with ascii.

I am planning to use TinyMUX, if anyone was wondering. TinyMUSH would be nice, but I can't find out how to get it to allow players to create their own accounts.

I'll try it then once the MUSH is up...

I've applied for the free package at yourmud.com, which comes with

    300mb Disk Space
    200mb Bandwidth
    1 MUD Port
    3 E-Mails
    1 Mailing List
    2 Shell Accounts
    1 MySQL Database

which should be enough for a while. MUSHes are tiny.

They haven't responded, so I'm gonna host it myself for a while.
If it works, my router is refusing connections left and right, for some reason It's not sending it to the right computer.

    We is hosted!
Should be nice, we get one port, I'll find somewhere else to host the MUD, and host the MUSH here.

    Our services are nice too:

    - 50MB Disk Space (kinda small, but it'll be enough for a while.)
    - 5MB RAM
    - 1 Port
    - Unlimited TCP Connections
    - 1 Login
    - CGI Access
    - Perl
    - PHP

except for the low amount of bandwidth, that's a pretty darn good package, especially considering it's free... heck even i don't get shell commands on my cheap account
