Yes, thank you for the "link." :p
Jokes asides, (terrible, terrible jokes aside) I really like the first game. I'm not a big fan of the second one, though. Either way, I've always really liked Zelda, even though I've never played it much. It was one of my favorite games a few years ago and I look forward to playing it again sometimes.

I don't like the NES Zelda games, may be because I played them later on. My first Zelda was the SNES gem Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and I have been a fan ever since.

The original TLoZ is more action-adventure than RPG.

But the sequel to that game, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, is definitely an RPG. I think part of why Nintendo went that direction was because RPGs were already gaining traction in the late 80s and early 90s, so maybe the idea was to test the waters with a different genre, but I think the game was just too early for its time (supported early hardware, RPG not as prominent yet especially in the western hemisphere, RPG genre had not been refined at that time).

Also, Zelda II just didn't appeal to many people. People like the action-adventure style more than RPG for Zelda games.
