It doesn't go on sale often so if interested would be a good idea to pick it up now.

Interesting drama over in Guild Wars 2 right now, the story is a player got mad at another player so bought some gold from a gold seller and had the gold seller send it to the player they didn't like. This got the player they didn't like banned for RWT. Apparently, this has happened before. Anet's responses thus far have been very underwhelming.

Companies like Anet want you to put so much time and money into their games but when it comes down to it, they can take it all back whenever they want, for whatever reason they deem necessary. Worse, it's typically automated systems calling the shots and to get to anyone with any actual power you have to make it through the contracted lowest bidder customer service. As games as a service become more and more prevalent, we really need stuff like this to change.

After Reddit outrage the lead GM reviewed the case and then reversed the ban and returned gold they removed from the account. So it all worked out but Anet has a history of this, they mess up, the proper channels fail and then only reddit outage fixes it. To be fair though, this isn't uncommon with other devs/companies either. Like I said previously, we need this kind of stuff to change, mistakes happen but it shouldn't take reddit outrage to get it right.
