    To keep matters simple, this is not a multiple choice poll. If you vote for 1000, we will assume you would rather have 2000 than 5000.

    Clearly a troop cap is needed to prevent troop races. The game could be very interesting with a low troop cap as it would force people into combat early on. I think new players will feel less daunted if the troop cap isn't so high.

    I'm gonna go 50k but 100k wouldn't be bad either, if someone gets ahead in a small troop cap(would be a lot tougher to do) then it could be a problem but then the cap could be raised to something higher to give some breathing room, maybe a dynamic troop cap would work, if there is a good formula to use to pick the cap it could change every week.... if possible.

    Because there is a natural growth of 1 troop/turn and a natural income of 10 gold/turn (modified by the income bonus), there wouldn't be as much of an advantage of occupying the troop cap if you have a very small troop cap.

    And it wouldn't take as long to recover from the revenge rule.

    This poll is really spread out...
    I think there's not much point in having a big troop cap, because at the end of the day, people will generally be either near the troop cap (because they escaped the early onslaught), or near the bottom (because they got slaughtered), so having a smaller troop cap will be able to keep the action big, though not too small, otherwise it'll be chaos. I therefore think that 100k would be appropiate.

    Does most everybody agree on 100,000 for the new troop cap? I think 300,000 was probably to high last season.

    I think lower would be better but I wouldn't mind if it's 100k.

    100k is not bad. I hated it last game when people built up at 300k and then attacked other nations until they were low enough to start attacking everybody!

    Well, that was a coordinated attack from the Ironheads AND the... Steelskulls I think, to take everybody out. It worked quite well, and left them in the top spots. That's why the reset happened, because it worked TOO well, and no-one could get back to the top anymore.

    Because of the restructuring, the Ironheads and Steelskulls were in 3rd and 4th place in terms of overall troops.

    The only way to bring the Ironheads and Steelskulls into 1st and 2nd place (and isn't that the whole point of playing a game) was to leave at least one member of each nation at the troop cap and impose a "troop cap" of 5k or so on everybody else.

    We won't apologize for winning the game. Even without the coordinated attack, I suspect that at some point, people would have gotten frustrated at being kept at 75% of the troop cap.

    I wouldn't say that it worked "TOO" well; the poll for a reset was only created shortly after the Ironheads passed the Gold Beasts for 2nd place.

    At the time the Ironheads and Steelskulls were split, many of us in the Ironheads forum were predicting that it would only be a short-term solution and there were some that wanted a reset at that time.

    In my opinion, the game was structually unbalanced when the Wompers were formed. Too many active players joined the Wompers leaving the other nations with too few players. The Ironheads got lucky when speedyturtle and Coffee Addict joined and were able to work their way to the top during the CrazyCane/Compwhiz confusion. Later we were able to get shivers89 and zmoney to the top after several of the top opponents decided to successively challenge me to combat. While I spent weeks recruiting only to lose my troops after hours of being attacked and counterattacking, it did clear the way of the most dangerous opponents.

    If there was one thing that I believe distinguished the Ironheads/Steelskulls from the other nations, it was coordination. Anyway, blame ogreman. He appointed me leader of the Ironheads after he unilaterally ended the truce with the Wompers, saying that he wanted a war between the number one and number two nations.

    We followed his instruction and the result was that the Steelskulls ended in 1st place, the Ironheads ended in 2nd place (if awesomedrako hadn't knock down J-Dowg, the Ironheads would have been in 1st place after zmoney descended), the combined Goldteeth and Big Beasts ended up in third place and the Wompers ended up in 4th place.

    (Ogreman likes to see lots of war and hates troop races.:))
